Went there with few other friends for dinner. The service was good and the food even better. The server recommended what's fresh and some dishes as there were so many to choose from. We all enjoyed the good immensely. We all said that we would be back again with others. Food was too good and I forgot to take pictures!
Food was about average for a Cantonese seafood restaurant but the prices were quite a bit higher than the standard. For the quality of food itself it’s actually not bad but it’s about the full dining experience and to be honest I felt like my table received significantly worse service than other tables. Most likely based on the dishes we ordered. I mean our food was by no means “cheap” but we did not purchase any of those recommendations the server told us about that costs way more money. We even over heard one of the servers or owner saying to another worker that they were relieved we were finally leaving. Probably because we were not spending “that much” for dinner…. And could finally fill our table with other people. No I will never set foot in this restaurant again or any future establishments the owner opens in the future. By no means is this review meant to defame the restaurant, maybe they were just feeling too stressed from the covid restrictions and really needed the money. ‍ but to be treated based on how much we are willing to spend on a meal simply is a first… oh and y’all wondering how much the meal cost, it was a little over $300 with 12% tips why did I tip? Because it’s not the servers faults they give that kind of service, more likely how the owner teaches the servers how to serve higher value customers
Bright atmosphere clean restaurant. Sitting is a bit tight. Lack of parking. Chicken and lobster cook to perfect condition to serve. Only the fish is salty with fishy smell that I don't get use to that taste, not recommended. Service is good and fast, politely stuff with courtesy, frequently change your dirty plate.
Our first time trying New Fishport Seafood Bistro was actually take out last year but we finally managed to visit in person a few weeks ago. It's located in a rather non-descript mini mall on Marine. The interior isn't huge and they sat us at one of the few small tables in the restaurant. We ordered the Mixed Vegetables, Mui Choy Kau Yuk, House Special Fried Rice, and we wanted to order a crab dish. They tried to convince us that we ordered too much... As it turns out, they mistakenly gave us the wrong crab dish. We ordered a simple ginger and green onion crab but they wound up giving us their special Fire Crab with Sticky Rice. The reason why they call it that is because they pour some liquid on the sticky rice and set it on fire tableside. While it wasn't what we ordered, it turned out pretty good with a spicy garlic soy flavour. Service was pretty good and food was tasty. Ended the meal with a taro tapioca dessert.
The owner and waiter/waitress are friendly and welcoming. They are not pushy to ask you to order foods and expensive items. We were thinking to order four dishes but the lady told us unless we wanted to take left over home. Otherwise, three dishes are enough for 3 of us. She gave us complimentary soup. We ordered 1 Lingcod 2 courses Stir-fried Lingcod with Choy Sum and Steamed Lingcod with Special Sauce and 2 House Special Soy Sauce Chicken. Dessert we had 3 Double Milk Custard and complimentary Vanilla Ice Cream. This is our first visit and 100% will return again soon. I recommend to call ahead to make reservations as it was full house on Tuesday night.
Good place for eating in, BUT be forewarned about takeout. We had ordered takeout of the braised half duck which is $48. When we got home and started eating it, we realized the container was a bit small sized for what we know is a pretty large dish as we had the same eating at the restaurant just 2 weeks prior. Lo and behold, our takeout was missing ALL 8-10 pieces of the breast meat slices that should have been there. All there was were bones and end pieces of the carcass! When we immediately called them about the missing meat, they made excuses of different way of cutting etc. Needless to say, it was our word against theirs so we didn't press further. What should have been a happy Chinese new year meal became spoiled. So be forewarned, inspect your takeout order thoroughly before paying and leaving the premises. Don't get ripped off like us. One of their employees is probably thoroughly enjoying the breast meat as I write this...
We had an outstanding experience at New Fishport Seafood Bistro on Marine Drive. There is sufficient parking in front, but it's quite packed during dinner hours. The restaurant is clean, bright and has a good and welcoming atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional. Fresh ingredients and well balanced flavours. We were particularly impressed with the fried rice lots of crab meat. Highly recommended.
Seafood is always fresh and well prepared here! Dishes are creative and cannot be found in other Chinese restaurants. Highly recommended!
Food was good quality, but prices go up to match. Tea and sweet soups weren't so great but the crab and shrimp were tasty. The snow pea tips were good.
Food here is made well and tasted very good. Service was superb and we loved the Phaesant and the beef tenderloin dishes. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and booster seats. Parking: Okay amount of parking in the lot.
