Lost a small claims court trial that I already won previously after the defendant appealed . The woman judge I had was visually impaired and wasn’t able to see the pictures I presented clearly . I could see the pictures clearly , the previous judge did when I won the case . Lost my appeal because someone needs new glasses . Ridiculous the court system is a joke
Well it depends on why you are going there . I would think most people would stay away from places like this . From what I see it's a place for people that have done something not so good or are bringing someone to court .
I was called to jury duty today in the NB District court. They tell you how wonderful you are for showing up and doing your duty and then they stuff you into the hottest, most cramped room they can find. It was about 90 degrees on a cold rainy fall day. 2 dozen people sitting on hard plastic chairs that you might find at a backyard picnic. People coughing and sniffing. Four hours later, we were all dismissed. I completely understand that you don't know what's going to be needed until you do. That's not my point. They should at least make the people that are there to help, slightly comfortable. If they ultimately called me in, I was hardly in the mood to be impartial. I would recommend deferring your service to another venue if you can.
Read this if you have jury duty at this courthouse and are curious about parking.nnAs far as courthouses go, this one is pretty straight forward. All the staff are really nice and helpful, provided you don’t barge in acting like a jerk.nnFor parking, there is a lot that is dedicated to staff. I got to the court about 30 minutes too early and ended up parking in front of a meter. Upon entering the building a guard said I could park in the lot in the very back row with the yellow lines. I’d advise checking with them first just in case. About 10 minutes before I was scheduled to be at the courthouse a dude appeared with a yellow coat handing out little cards to put on your dashboard that say “Jury duty.” Definitely find this person and get that card so you’re not at risk of getting towed. By doing this, parking ended up being free.nnI’m not sure if this is common here, but there is a way to avoid a paid lot or metered parking. Just head inside and ask first.nnGood luck!
I was called in for jury duty. I am happy to fulfill my Civic duty, however this is not the army or military, I should not be risking my life on these horrible roads to go to jury duty and miss a day's pay from work... The snow storm happened four days ago and yes I lost control of my car on ice and slush twice. Town, City whatever of New Bedford, you can do much better... Plow better, and treat the roads better or you very likely will get people hurt.
