BUTTONS BUTTONS BUTTONS So many buttons! Lovely customer service as well
always loved shopping at this place, so sorry to find out they are no longer there Hope they will open somewhere else!!
This place deserves ZERO stars. My friend brought my sewing machine in to get serviced. She was told by an Asian lady that any parts needed for repairs would be $25 & that she could expect a call if otherwise. After a week my friend went to pick up my machine & there was a super rude middle eastern man that kept telling my friend that my machine was not worth fixing. He heavily insisted on selling her other sewing machines he had. After he realized that my friend was not interested in buying one of his machines he finally gave back my machine to my friend. Luckily she opened my machine but found that my bobbin case was missing. He is blaming the repair man that he has for the missing bobbin case & is not willing to replace or be accountable for my now missing bobbin case. In short, don’t bother providing business to this man. You’ll end up regretting dealing with this incredibly rude & reckless man. Update: the aforementioned man told my friend that he wanted this review taken down & claimed it was racist & threatened to sue. I will leave this review since it has been an honest experience at this establishment. Thankfully all that matters is that eventually he returned the missing piece. Hope this is a painful lesson on what certain actions can lead to. Best of luck!
Came downtown to specifically get some supplies. It’s Thursday at 5:40pm and they’re already closed. Store hours say until 6pm, google maps states until 6pm. I have an injury and would have preferred not to leave my house in -6 degrees for a closed store.
Have always love it here. So many treasures to be found in those tiny aisles. Staff is helpful, has never pushed me on purchasing what I don't need. Best price on all things sewing as well. Now that I've left the city I still drive in for goodies when I need them. Its worth it.
When you've created that perfect dress, but you can't seem to find the right buttons; fear not for what we have here can only be described as the epitome of button shopping! From elaborate metal buttons gleaming of renaissance period royal charm to modern, bright, and cheerful ones, the selection here is unmatched!
I have a lot of respect for these guys. Because of the location they get a LOT of harassment/ nonsense and they are SO firm- they don’t take any s*** from anyone. And at the same time when I come with a particular problem to solve, they’re SO helpful and efficient! I particularly value the solutions they provide- they’re always spot-on and have often saved me both time and money. This is now my preferred store for all things sewing related.
Yes, this used to be a decent shop, not anymore. Several of the staff are pushy and rude, in particular the older man. He in particular doesn't want customers to look at more than one option before committing to a purchase. It's a horrible experience. The shop is now a mess, it's more difficult to navigate due to the pig sty it has evolved into. Go elsewhere.
The physical space is extremely cramped and in disarray. The cutters of yardage do not even have a table to work on, but use a yardstick in the air and sometimes short the measurement. The management is penny-pinching for example, rounding up $7.99/yard to $8.00 and then adding tax and do not offer receipts unless asked directly, even on credit card sales. Fibre content and country of origin are seldom given and those are legal requirements, and they frequently misrepresent the products. This used to be an excellent business with knowledgable service. It was worth the slightly higher price and the trip to a congested part of town. Unfortunately this is no longer the case.
I went in and asked if they have elastic. The woman nodded, so I followed her. She picked up a ladder and I thought, huh? Then she pointed to a dark corner impatiently and said, "There." I said, "Oh. Do you have..." but she walked away. That is non-existent customer service and I won't be back.
