The owner, Daniel St-Pierre, came to my house this morning. We had initially spoken over the phone about cleaning my couch, chair and foot stool for between $150 to $200. He told me I would not be charged if it was not possible to clean the material. When the owner arrived at my house his price went up to $300. He worked at the furniture for about an hour and told me he was done. I spent the next thirty minutes showing him large areas of ground in dirt and spots that were removeable once he spent a little more time at it.
I would have rented a steam cleaner myself but I figured that it was worth paying between $150 and $200 with a free consultation to see if I should even attempt a cleaning my couches. On top of it all, he told me that applying something like Scotch Guard was an extra $200. I thought about it when he went to get the product and decided against it. He was visibly upset when I told him I chaged my mind and told me it was already mixed. So what? It keeps. Sell it to someone else. He agreed to knock off $50.
Now that the furniture is drying, I'm seeing that there are many more areas that are not that clean. I feel like I was taken for a ride. The cost of this service was not worth it at all and the owner, in my opinion, scams clients with ridiculously high prices for "protective" products.
Go rent a machine for $60, you'll probably do as good a job as him.

Linda
