Story

Founded in 1994 we are located on Lake Superior (the world's largest freshwater inland sea) at the mouth of the mighty Michipicoten River, near Wawa, Ontario. Our focus is on silent sports and specifically sea kayaking, canoeing, Voyageur Canoe and hiking. Our base includes Rock Island Lodge B&B, great certified sea kayak skills, instructor and guide training programs, sea kayak and canoe rentals, shuttles and more. Our goal is to be your Canadian Lake Superior Experts!

We stayed here at the Rock Island Lodge and had an amazing time. The Lodge is rustic, the views are spectacular, and the staff is a lot of fun. We opted in for the meals and the home cooking was very nice. We stayed in the Cara suite and very much enjoyed it. The building is very historical and one of a kind. We will certainly return next summer. We took the half day kayaking instruction and used the boats all day. The lessons were very good and we had a great time seeing the Lake Superior views from the water. I would recommend tripping through this outfitter. Boats were in great shape and staff was experienced.

The hidden gem of Wawa and Northern Ontario right on the shore of Lake Superior. Well worth the small detour off the highway for a day paddle, night at the lodge, or for a full out kayak adventure.

My girlfriend and I did a half-day kayaking excursion here and could not have been more pleased. It was a little pricey, but we are from the states, so we were expecting that. Paul, our instructor, was fantastic. Very thorough and took the time to explain all the basic kayaking techniques to us. He was very friendly as well. The excursion took us around their beautiful bay right off of Superior, then off to a tucked away waterfall (Wawa falls). The lesson and kayaking lasted nearly four hours and the staff could not have been more friendly. If you are looking to kayak while you are visiting Wawa or LSPP, definitely check these guys out. They do lessons - both half day and full day. I believe they do stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking. Super satisfied with my experience. Check them out!
