I recently visited Nations Food Mart in Woodbridge, Ontario, and I was impressed! I hadn’t shopped at Nations before, but I decided to stop by while running errands in the area.nnI picked up some BBQ pork for $12.99/lb, and it was absolutely delicious! The staff worked hard to cut the meat, and we ended up with a generous portion that was perfectly seasoned and crispy. I must say, it’s better than First Choice Supermarket in Markham and definitely underrated!nnWhile I didn’t purchase anything else because the prices were relatively similar to other supermarkets, I was impressed by the variety of ethnic foods available. The store features a food court, deli, bakery, produce section, and a meat department—you name it! One thing I found a bit excessive was the announcement about sushi being on sale, which they made over six times. The sushi looked decent but seemed overpriced for the small portions.nnOverall, I think Nations Food Mart is a solid supermarket, and I’ll definitely be back to explore more of what they offer!
I've never actually done grocery shopping at Nations, so I'm basically only reviewing the hot food section. These prices CANNOT be beat - $10.99 for a 2 item combo, and they really load it up. I wish I got a photo of how much meat they gave us, because it was no joke. It can easily feed two hungry people. You cannot get that much food for $10.99 anywhere else in the GTA anymore. The quality is also decent.nnWe also ordered some of the dishes individually. The beef ho fun $5.99 wasn't the best, but for the price I wasn't expecting much beef anyways. The sweet and sour pork was solid. Overall, I'd highly recommend the hot food section if you're in the area for a cheap and tasty meal.nnWe also picked up a bottle of soy milk on our way out. Unfortunately, it had already gone bad, which we discovered when we got home. Hopefully this is a one time thing.
Very good grocery store with lots of Asian variety fresh fruits and veggies as well as a large BBQ meats section. Generally lots of parking space. Need to bring your own bags here! The largest selection of ramen that I have ever seen! And so so many different unique snacks.nNegative: only cash/debit, no bags sold. Also no drinks sold here like smoothies coffee…
Great grocery store, decent prices and if you buy by sales you’ll be happy!nnUnfortunate customer service, reached out through the website about concerns and got no answer. Went into store to tell them about the steaks that went gray and squishy after one day even though it said the expiry was in a week. Customer service brushed me off and told me I should have put them in the freezer.nnSteaks were slimy significantly softer than the red parts, pictures taken one day after purchase, 5 days before listed expiry.nnReally upsetting, I’ve been going to this store for over 8 years and they were not at all accommodating.
