The best shop in Ontario!nnThey maintain my small fleet of vehicles and always will! Trustworthy, honest and fair pricing! Most of my vehicles are reaching 400,000kms and they have taken care of them for most of those. I even drive all the way from Huntsville just for their quality service.nnIf you need a high quality shop for your vehicles don’t think twice!nnThank you again to the team at advantage for always being amazing!
First time taking a vehicle to this shop as I needed a safety inspection for a car I just purchased. Service was top notch and friendly. It is so nice to deal with a family owned and operated business as they are few and far between nowadays. Thanks again for the great service. I will be back.
This staff and mechanics have always been great, have been coming here for years. Recently had multiple issues, things breaking/needing replaced and they handled it all. A lot of unfortunate things one after another, but they got it done and were amazing!! Thank you guys for being so awesome during all of this !! Shout out to Spencer who put many many hours into getting me back on the road :
EDIT/RESPONSE TO OWNER:nnCharacterizing this as a 'misunderstanding' is disingenuous. I did not 'walk in' for a quick look; I called the day before and booked an appointment that morning specifically for a Pre-Purchase Inspection PPI. We explicitly stated three times, including when we received a completely blank report I will also share a photo of the report this evening. after the service, that we required a professional PPI for a business investment. At no point did we request a 'brief safety check' just to drive to Kitchener.nnThe claim that you lack the diagnostic equipment for a Mercedes-Benz one of the most common vehicle brands in Ontario is a startling admission for a professional shop. Charging $150 to point out a chipped windshield and a dashboard light which were already visible while admitting you cannot scan the vehicle’s systems is unacceptable. If I were hired to simply spot cracked glass and dashboard lights, I’d happily do it for $50, not $150.nnI have no interest in 'discussing this further' privately, as the lack of transparency was clear during my visit. However, I will be sharing this experience on Reddit, Facebook, and filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau BBB. My goal is to ensure other small business owners in Ontario do not pay professional PPI prices for such substandard service.nnORIGINAL REVIEW Thursday, March 12, 2026nnI brought a 2018 Mercedes Metris to this shop for a pre-purchase inspection and paid $150, because when you are considering buying a vehicle especially a commercial vehicle used for business a proper inspection is extremely important.nnFor vehicles that will be used to transport passengers or operate as part of a business, a thorough inspection helps identify potential mechanical problems, safety issues, and upcoming repair costs before making a financial decision.nnUnfortunately, the inspection I received did not appear to be thorough. There was no diagnostic scan to determine why the check engine light was on, no test drive, and no written report. The only feedback I received was that the windshield had a crack and that the check engine light was on which was clearly visible already.nnIn addition, the front desk mentioned that the inspection was performed by an apprentice. I may be mistaken, but my understanding is that inspections of this nature are typically expected to be performed or directly supervised by a licensed technician in Ontario. If such supervision occurred, it was not explained to me.nnWhen customers pay $150 for a pre-purchase inspection, they reasonably expect a professional evaluation that includes lifting the vehicle, checking key mechanical components, scanning error codes, and providing a clear explanation of the vehicle’s condition or at least a detailed breakdown of things that took place and the errors that needed fixing.nnBecause purchasing a commercial vehicle involves significant financial and safety considerations, a proper inspection is essential. Unfortunately, this was not my experience here.nnI hope the shop reviews its inspection procedures so future customers receive the level of detail and transparency that such an important service requires. I would have appreciated a more comprehensive assessment to justify the $150 fee and to provide the peace of mind necessary. I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for the shop to align its service standards with the professional expectations of the Ontario automotive industry.
Have been to Advantage a total of 3 times now and every experience with them has been great from start to finish. Staff are friendly. The most recent time I brought my car in to have a coolant leak diagnosed. The leak was diagnosed and fixed while I waited. Bryce explained took the time and explained what was being done. Thank you!
