The food here is so incredibly good, I don’t have words for it, and the fact that they do halal & offer to sub halal on items that aren’t is a big plus. One of the things that irks me about franchise breakfast places is how lacklustre & lacking they are in the coffee/espresso department, and Namo being a smaller, locally owned spot having a selection of espresso drinks is such a relief! Their hazelnut latte was perfect with our food. We’ve been here twice already, & will likely be back soon enough as it’s on our route to work. A definite must try!
I recently visited Namo Cafe Bistro at 824 Edmonton Trail, Calgary, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. We ordered the Good Ma Veggie Burger, Fruit and Nut French Toast, Namo Masala Chai, and Mango Lassi.nnThe Veggie Burger was tasty, but things went downhill from there. The Fruit and Nut French Toast had stale almonds, which caused an upset stomach and diarrhea. When we complained, they replaced the almonds, but it made us concerned about the freshness of other ingredients.nnThe Mango Lassi had an unpleasant taste, like aluminum oxide, possibly from being stored in a tin. The Namo Masala Chai was below average and lacked the authentic flavor we expected.nnWhile the staff responded to our complaint, the overall quality of food and beverages was disappointing. I hope they seriously improve their ingredient storage and food safety practices. I wouldn’t recommend this place until these issues are addressed.
I suspect this is the most acclaimed and recommended brunch restaurant in the city. They have a great variety of dishes, from traditional breakfast to bowls. The portions are ample and the flavors are exquisite! Try Namo, you'll love it!
I came here at 8:30am on a Friday with my husband and we were seated immediately. The waitress was very nice and attentive.nnI got the brisket bowl with tots very good and a single piece of French toast delicious. My husband got the lamb shakshuka but subbed for beyond sausage and a side of tots. Everything was great and I'd definitely go back.nnThere's a paid parking lot on the side.
An average brunch spot, with a bit of Indian fusion. This is a popular but cramped brunch location in Calgary which serves your usual brunch dishes with an Indian twist. The dishes are well presented and have average pricing, but I wouldn't say they're anything special in terms of taste. Not bad by any means, but the ones I tried didn't wow me. Still worth a shot if you want something other than the typical western brunch! No real parking so you'll be parking along the street.
