Nails And Spa

I walked in to remove my shellac polish. She was available, she was on her cellphone and waved me in. Her technique was unusual to say the least. She never got off her phone and even put it on speaker. She was was very rough and the salon appeared to be unclean. I paid my bill and even gave a generous tip because I felt bad that she probably had no business. When I left I had a chance to really look at my nails. She completely destroyed them. Not only did she scrape them horribly but they were rough and so badly damaged. It will take many weeks of TLC to repair my usually healthy nails. I will never go back

*My fiancé borrowed my account to write this review.* I went in for a full gel set. I called the woman from Bracebridge to see if she'd have time to do it that day, she said yes and I said I'd be there in ten minutes. Before I got to the shop, this woman had called me again, I say hello and I get "WHERE ARE YOU?!" which should have been my first clue not to go. However, I went in anyways. The woman doing my nails was extremely rude, didn't say more than two words to me the whole time. She didn't ask how long I wanted my nails, and nearly cut my finger tip off trimming the white tips. I still have the original nail polish I went in with showing under the gel, and half of the tips she put on are too small for my nail. I had to file the nail myself, because she was more focused on this group of 12 year olds that came in with no money than she was actually doing my nails. The top coat is bubbled, the tips are either too small or crooked, and half of my nails look like they need to be filled already and I got this done yesterday. My entire manicure took her 25 minutes or less. Gel sets are not done that quickly! This was by far the biggest waste of $45 ever.

Helen runs the shop on her own and is fairly busy on Fridays and Saturdays. She always fits me in if I just walk in. She does a good job for a good price. As for the other comment about the lady being kicked out for being 10 mins late, she was already 20 mins late for appt and still 10 min away when Helen talked to her. Helen had other appts booked. I know this because I was sitting there. Helen had everything ready and waiting for the lady to show up.
