I was to excited to find out Nadège café has opened up a new store in downtown Oakville. I have always enjoyed their cakes, desserts, pastries and of course their croissants. The customer service is quick and the staff are nice. They offer hot and cold drinks, too. You can choose to buy for takeout or sit inside the café and enjoy your dessert. I strongly recommend their Almond Pain au Chocolat.
The chicken coronation sandwich was super delicious. It would have been perfect had it been for a completely warmed up base. It was super cold to touch. The cheese cucumber tomato sandwich was decent too. The rose oat milk latte was yumm. As was the pink ginger lime warmer. Unique and good.
During our bike ride, we happened to come across Nadège. It was a delightful experience, with delectable pastries and coffee that simply couldn't be overlooked. I definitely plan on visiting again in the future.
Went to Nadege as research for an upcoming article: 1. Location - excellent literally a short walk to the waterfront 2. Ambiance - adorable cute, lovely place to bring friends and hang out 3. Service - excellent, Ghaydaa was upbeat and fun while being attentive and professional. I had a wonderful experience there. 4. Food - I had a very delicious egg sandwich on a croissant with bacon cheese and tomato. Thumbs up for that. Plus the decadent cappuccino on the side made me feel so spoiled. I brought home lots of pastries. My family used to my questions about salt level, butter levels and so on all loved the flaky tasty pastries. Sweet but not overly sweet. 5. Giftable - Going to visit and you want to bring something? Here you go! The beautiful packaging at Nadege and lovely looking pastries make this an excellent gift. Honestly, I believe Nadge deserves a seat at the "One of the Best Bakeries in Oakville' table. The obvious attention to detail tells me that a lot of care is taken in every aspect of this French pastry shop.
Overall I give my first experience here a three and a half. There were high points and low points. I have read the other reviews and I don’t disagree with them. On this trip one staff member was knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. The other was, let’s just say… meh. The Good… The chocolate and butter croissants were amazing. Like one of the other reviewers said, a few seconds in the microwave really brought them to life and enhanced the flavours. Packaging is beautiful and lends itself to gifting. I will say, it is not easy to carry more than one and I certainly would not want to carry those boxes while walking my dog. The Bad… Pricing was pretty steep and then they ask for a tip. Macaroons were a little dry and one of our flavours had that refrigerated taste the other reviewer mentioned. This is absolutely unacceptable when they are charging over $2 each. So, overall I had high hopes for this location. It is NOT the same as the Toronto Nadege we love. Hopefully with a little time and staff training it can mature into something special. For now, I think I will continue to support Oakville‘s other treat and croissant places.
We visited here today after hearing rave reviews from my son. I tried the almond chocolate croissant and a hazelnut chocolate cookie. My husband had the apple strudel pastry. I really don’t understand others’ poor reviews and I have not visited the Toronto location, but I found the staff was friendly and everything was delicious. Yes, it was expensive, but I will definitely be back to treat myself again.
This was my first visit to the Oakville store location . It’s very close to an Indian resturant on that pathway . You never gotta miss the beautiful decor . It’s pretty attractive We got macaroons - cotton candy , pistachio , hazelnut and blueberry . All were so yum and soft . Delicious All macaroons and a small selection of their pastries are gluten free. Donuts were decorated so tastefully . Would love to try another time . Customer service could be better but not disappointing . Will definitely come back to pick maybe a croissant or a cake
Great location, friendly staff and very good desserts! The coffee… it needs work and likely better training of the baristas - definitely something that can be fixed. Look forward to returning to this improvement
The place itself is welcoming, deserts are fairly ok not great for the price and coffee is just standard and overpriced. The layout and the ordering/paying system they have completely ruins the experience. If you only want coffee then you must make a huge line behind the people that wants a desert but take several minute choosing one. Makes no sense to do the desert line if you only want coffee which is much faster and easier. It would be better to have a ticket system and once you’ve decided what you would like then grab a ticket and you’ll be taken in by order or just simply copy Starbucks’ model that is quite awesome and successful.
Delicious and beautifully decorated pastries. Nice sitting spaces inside and outside.
