Fantastic place to eat, located in the Hamilton Farmer's Market. Lots of plantbased/vegan and gluten-free options. The owner walked us through the menu and ordering. Mine came with delicious tofu and a vegan egg that's a thing!! made from a tofu and curried chickpea cream. The food tasted amazing. Just absolutely phenomenal. The owner walked out to our table to ensure we were enjoying everything. Have recommended and will visit often.
What an amazing experience...staff AWESOME, food AMAZING...I can't wait to go back. Waitstaff are so friendly and knowledgeable. You walk in the door, and the owner greets you like you guys are long-time friends, and when you leave, she thanks you for coming, and you honestly forget you're at a restaurant. I told her 'thank you for having us' the same way I would to friends as I'm leaving their home. I can't recommend this place enough, food was so yummy, appetizers were delicious and that beer, have the beer, hands down better than Sapporo, 5 stars isn't enough.
Went here with the hubby on good Friday! We both had the shoyu Tokyo and it didn't disappoint! The broth was flavorful but not too overwhelming. The noodles were cooked well, chewy but firm. The best part about the dish was the pork! So tender and cooked to absolute perfection. We even got an additional order of it. The chicken karaage was also well cooked and juicy. The staff were lovely and very attentive. 10/10 will definitely visit again soon!
We are absolutely enthralled with a recent visit to Mystic Ramen on Good Friday. This restaurant came with high recommendations from a friend and we were NOT disappointed. The décor is nicely done especially the seated bar and environment is very cozy and inviting. Environment aside, the staff made our seating and experience delightful from entry to exit. I will admit the space constraints as with a lot of niche downtown restaurants with smaller footprints did place a bit of hesitation in us entering with a stroller and kid, we were nevertheless welcomed warmly and accommodations were made for seating. Washroom facilities were clean, thoughtful and minimalistic. The washrooms are down a staircase, so it may pose an issue for those with mobility issues I admit I did not personally see a main floor washroom/elevator. We were provided with a QR scan card that took us a digital menu. It was easy to navigate and prices were reasonable. It was not until I had a chance to eat the food before being absolutely floored by the quality and felt the prices were more than justified. The portion sizes are fair, but do expect to order appetizers or accompanying items as a single main dish is not enough to fill. The broth is strong and aromatic, nothing "out of a can" or "from powder" which ties in nicely with our chosen dishes. It was a delight downing all the broth after the noodles and didn't leave us with a terrible after taste and dehydrated. I am informed that it's a nut-free establishment, and the use of sesame for that 'nutty' flavour was well thought-out. While I'm looking forward to my next visit to try new dishes, I almost feel obligated to eat the three we chose this time as they are "tried, tested and true". I will have to say that Mystic Ramen is going to be replacing my existing 'de facto ramen place' ... only wishing that the parking situation on the street could get sorted at no fault of theirs Vegetarian options: Menu contains a vegan section without disappointment Kid-friendliness: Staff were extremely receptive to children on the premise. Colouring placemats +menu, crayons and accommodations were readily available and offered. The staff were tremendous with babies and school-aged kids which was greatly appreciated. Parking: Due to major construction, the street is one-way and with limited metered parking. Some previously accessible spots are no longer available due to construction. There are ample parking available in nearby lots, but they are paid. Wheelchair accessibility: There are several small steps to enter the restaurant. It may cause some barrier for those using mobility devices or even strollers. The toilet facilities require heading down a staircase, but I cannot ascertain if there was elevator/alternate accessibility toilet on the main floor.
This has to be the worst ramen I’ve ever had. We tried really hard to enjoy the spicy miso ramen, but were left thoroughly disappointed. What I find to be the most enjoyable part of the ramen experience, the warm and hearty broth, was what left us unsatisfied. It all together tasted like hot water with drops of food colouring in it— completely flavourless. On the other hand, the toppings were somewhat redeemable qualities. Marinated egg was flavoured and cooked perfectly. They gave two slices of savoury pork. Service was also nice, wish the food matched their good graces. Overall, I don’t plan on returning at all because of how unsatisfied I left the establishment.
This place is amazing! One our favorites. I'm not a ramen connoisseur, but I've had a few bowls. This place is one of the best! Ramen is 10/10. Meat eaters and vegetarians will be happy. Staff is so hard working and friendly. We love them. They're new, so the place is slowly improving on the inside still building a couple of things. Also, they do Asahi beer on tap and will eventually have some fun cocktails that I'm looking forward to. Call for reservations to help schedule yourself in on busy nights. Vegetarian options: Flavor isn't lacking in vegetarian option
Honestly the best ramen I have ever eaten, I want to try everything on the menu. To top it off, all of the staff are so sweet. I highly recommend eating here if you are nearby… ALSO they have AMAZING vegan options!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a bright smile. Heather was able to assist me to pick the Tantanmen you will sweat. Friendly and accommodating staff, fast and great service. I felt like a regular, even though it’s my first visit. I would highly recommend. Food was great, tasty, and just spiced to your liking.
The Khao Soi Ramen is a curry lover’s dream, simply amazing! A rich yellow coconut curry topped with roasted chicken and topped with crispy shallots, scallions, pickled mustard greens, fried wonton noodles, cilantro and lime Definitely a good reason to come and visit the Hamilton Farmers Market, you won’t be disappointed.
Everything’s good. All the ramen we chose were good. We had kids Vegan, Rich Miso, Naruto. All good but portion is small. My eight year old and eleven year old were hungry after eating theirs, hence the third bowl was ordered. My son was observant and found the Naruto bowl was arranged to look like the anime character. We ordered the Lemon Pickle paitan and I had no regrets. It was delicious. The waiter and owner took the time to explain how to eat it so the lemon wasn’t over powering. I love this invention. We also ordered a Tokyo Shoyu which was good. Our friends ordered the Tantanmen which they recommend for next visit. Service was excellent. It’s busy and crowded. They open at 5 pm and they fill up quick. So if you don’t arrive at the time they open, prepare to wait. Price was okay. It’s good ramen so it’s not overpriced but I do wish the portion was slightly bigger. If you want egg, make sure you you order it as an extra topping cause it doesn’t come with the ramen.
