An easy and accessible walk along a historic and beautiful path. The drive up takes on the incline leaving you with a flat, wide path to enjoy. One way is 12km over some amazing trestle bridges. It was snowing/raining the day we went so we completed only 6km overall. Many people rent bikes and do a full 24km loop. The views we had were brilliant, so I can only imagine how much better they would be on a sunny day. There are pit toilets along the way and a storm shelter. There are many benches from which to enjoy the view. Will be looking forward to going back.
An exhilarating family bike ride in the most picturesque setting! This is a must do when visiting the Kelowna area. Our 6 year old twins easily managed the 24 km round trip trestle trail. We brought our own bikes but rentals are available. Benches with stunning views are plentiful along the route and there are also a couple of storm shelters and bathrooms available, too. There is also a volunteer staff member who rides back and forth along the trail in case anyone needs help like a spare tire, for example. Would recommend bringing snacks and water: just be aware of the overly friendly chipmunks who have obviously been fed by humans passing through. Side note: Please don’t feed the wildlife, people! Our family had an incredible experience biking over the 18 trestles! Highly recommend. This was a highlight of our trip to the Okanagan. Our cheeks hurt from smiling so hard!
Came here with the family because we heard about the history and to see the trestles and tunnels. It did not disappoint. We went just passed the 2km mark from the Myra parking lot which is after the first tunnel. All in it was 5km round trip for us. At the parking lot you can rent bikes and there is also washrooms. The paths and trestles are wide enough for hikers and bikes. We definitely will come here again - maybe go a bit farther.
Absolutely stellar lookout! Tons of trails and trail riding with a vast array of inclines. Looking forward to exploring this place more!
This attraction is suitable for hiking, cycling and snowshoeing. The scenery is beautiful, don't miss it when you come to Kelowna! Here you can learn the history of Canadian Railways, suitable for families. Total 25k round trip, bike rental is available if you need. Recommend start early in the morning in the summertime, also beware wild animal like bear. Prepare plenty of water and snacks to enjoy the day's activities!
Wow, what an amazing place with such history and natural wonders. Well kept and definitely a must 'check off' the bucket list. TiPs: 1. Go to bathroom prior if you are weak on the port-a-potties. 2. Dress in layers as it gets colder at top and into tunnel, draft between mountains. 3. Note the gravel semi- off road uphill for about 20mins to the top. #gritguide604 #BeautifulBC #supportlocal Restrooms: Eeewww only port-a-potty options *guess the natural surroundings too if you are not shy lol Dog-friendliness: A haven for dogs and their human pets!
Myra Canyon has been on my bucket list for years!! And it didn't disappoint. Absolutely amazing. A quick 15 minute car ride up the mountain. Rode our bikes on this train trestle trail with stunning views even though it was slightly smoky the day we went. Started at the Provincial Park day use area and cycled the 12km trail to the end and back 24km return. It's a flat and very easy ride and goes over 12 train trestles and through 2 tunnels and was so beautiful the whole way. We did the whole trail in about 2 hours including stops for photos and cycling at an easy pace. There were bike rentals at the park day use entrance. I highly recommend this activity. Take a little picnic lunch and spend more time as there are plenty of places to stop and take in the vistas!
Beautiful views with spectacular tressels and tunnels. But riding surface needs some work and after we rode through the Park the trail deteriorated more. This place is popular with walkers, riders and ebikes. A little too dog friendly is that possible ?
Fantastic place to ride a bike and or walk. Highly recommend.
Too wet and muddy this time of year for walks or dogs. I'll come back when snow has melted and mud is gone.
