Great food and great service! Portions are good for sharing. Highly recommended this gem of a restaurant. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. A word to the wise: come hungry, come with friends and definitely get the fried okra and sweet potato cornbread.Dine in: Yes
What an amazing experience. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, but elegant. The food was INCREDIBLE. The fried whiting and fried chicken had incredible coating, perfectly crisp but the meat was still juicy and delicious itself. The biscuits, cornbread muffin, Mac and cheese, short rib with gouda grits, and collard greens were perfect. The candied yams were a perfect addition to add a little sweet to the savory flavors. I would definitely recommend and will be back again for more! Vegetarian options: There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from!
The atmosphere here is homey. The service is marvelous. Benjamin was very attentive and helpful. At the time we visited there was live music. Vanessa and her guitarist was very entertaining. I give 4 for while it was good atmosphere the food took a while to adjust. The menu should have sodium level info. Good food too much sodium. The sweet was good Both my friend and I left blotted. She was nauseous. We ordered a little and could not finish. My recommendation is if you don't mind much sodium it maybe okay. Dietary restrictions: Be careful if you have high blood pressure and do not know about the level of sodium.
Great food. The portions are enough to take some home. Beautiful Ambiance. Service is great. We drove 40 minutes to come here and it is worth every calorie. If you are in the area or not try them you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Came to eat here on a whim , Sunday at around 12:30. The service was really great and the food was even better. The 4 of us shared 3 entrees and Left satisfied !! The atmosphere was so nice and there was live music . All the food we ate was super enjoyable . We got the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and short rib and the cake was really yummy too. Would definitely recommend and return here !
Went here for our anniversary last night after craving some chicken wings, and was not disappointed. This is a small cozy establishment full of wonderful people and good vibes. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well and the ribs had great flavor but could have been more tender. The Macaroni and cheese was so creamy and delicious. You can swap out the sides according to your preference. My husband had the chicken and waffles, which was just as great. Would be cool if they had some flavored butter options. Had their half and half which was good but wish it was just a little less sweet. We came with our one year old and the staff was so very accommodating and sweet. Love their story and the food and will def be back to try other menu items.
First time at this place! We had a 1pm reservation for two people. I’ve got to admit that the the decor, music and everything in between was pleasant! The staff was attentive and welcoming. The food was superb! Definitely will come back again. We ordered the chicken & waffles, bbq chicken, a side of mac & cheese and a side of pepper jack cheese hush puppies.
Parking is limited, so you have to drive around to find street parking. On Sunday, they serve brunch, so the full menu isn't available. I ordered take out, and was suprised at how fast I received my food. The Sunrise Punch is light, and refreshing. The Salmon Cakes look a little burnt, but they were excellent in taste. The Chicken & Waffles were also very good. As far as the chicken, it was seasoned perfectly. The Six Cheese, Mac & Cheese was enjoyable as well. I usually don't like everyone's Mac & Cheese when I go out. I was impressed!
A small spot without a lot of signage. If you don't look for it you could walk right by. Walked in and was greeted by warm music and staff. Tried the whiting fish, hush puppies, yams, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and waffles. They were all good. The waffles were a little thicker than I'm used to but not bad. The syrup came out warm which was a nice touch. The half and half was too sweet for my taste so I added water and then a little more water and it made a world of a difference. Also meant I only had to buy 1 drink. The music was excellent! The staff was attentive and I plan on revisiting with more friends soon. *Update* I have since gone back 2 more times. Waffles, cooked to perfection, chicken, crispy and tender inside, fish, amazing, red velvet cake delicious. Definitely a new favorite spot to dine in.
Seriously the best southern comfort food I have ever had. The fried chicken, fried whiting, okra, and grits were all amazing, but the hush puppies absolutely stole the show. They are a MUST try when you visit. The food is dense as comfort food should be so the portion sizes are large and you are definitely getting more than you are spending. Not only the food is amazing, but the staff are amazing as well. They really make you feel right at home. You can tell they love doing what they are doing from the waiters/waitresses to the owners. There's a lot of love and passion in this restaurant and it can be seen in every aspect. I can only hope they one day expand to allow for more diners!
