We had two couples and rented a 2 bedroom condo through an online booking site. The condo itself had everything we needed, bbq'd one night and had dinner at the resort. Played one round of golf at Muskoka Bay Club. The condo could have been cleaner upon arrival, dust and drink rings found on the nightstand in the bedroom. The biggest disappointment was our condo had no housekeeping on our second day. Garbage not picked up, no additional towels, etc. We knew the two bedroom unit had smaller rooms and beds. Queen and a double One bedroom is open to below and had limited privacy and we shared a small bathroom between the two rooms. Golf - Great course, challenging and in fantastic condition. Starter was very knowledgeable. Worth the green fee. Restaurant - Very good food and selection. Prices were comparable to a mid to high restaurant. Service was very good. Spa - Do not bother, our wives went through multiple phones calls, changes and cancellations hours before their appointment. The services are offered through an outside company and they use the ladies locker room to preform the service. Overall the staff were very helpful and the golf course was great. Would we return, probably not for what they charge and what we experienced with the accommodations.
Gorgeous setting, but bare in mind it is a construction zone. We got lucky with a dusting of snow to cover the mess. I would caution you on your room rental. Our room was dated and dingy but they did change it for us to one in the main building thankfully. All the amenities are in separate building so not very convenient. Restaurant was amazing. Better value and experience could be had elsewhere in Muskoka Dinner at the amazing. Gym was great, we did enjoy our stay.
We booked a “luxury” loft for a mid-week winter stay. There was nothing luxury about the loft - it was not properly cleaned or maintained; uncomfortable furniture living room and master bed, stain on living room chair, scuffs and dirt on walls throughout, kitchen cabinets literally falling apart, pots scratched beyond reasonable use, visible water damage in bathroom, grout had pink mould, light in stairwell did not work. Zero privacy even with blinds down - they’re see through! Plus they charge a cleaning fee on top of the room price and 8% “resort fee”. Would not recommend.
Where do i start? Queen bed is not queen, its a full or double so we had 2 adults and a kid squished on it. The room was OK cleaned when arrived, but i asked for housekeeping, they did everything but vacuum, so since i am losing my hair, it was all over the floor. Dishwasher in next room beeped all night, second day it beeped in ours. Room so small, these are like those tiny, tiny rooms and your walki g i to the kitchen. Room service is not avaliable as stated, the spa never picked up even after 3 days of calling and leaving massages. I have paid so much for rooms as its the most important part of the trip rest after play but this has to be the worst. Don't let the pictures fool you! Now the restaurant: went went 2x, once to use pool and once to pickup food. First time wait 15 min even though i cohld see the food on counter because hotesss was chatting away and look over but could not be bothered. Second time when to the pool and none came after they saw us standing at the wait to be seated sign. I saw this waitress walk by 3x and just stare, didn't twll anyone or ask if i wanted help. After sick of waiting, me and my son decided to walk into the restaurant at which pint 2 of the waitresses were like how can we help? I was like you saw me standing and you just stared, they said they are not the hostess lol. with a chuckle I think it was because we were not "white", and i have never experienced this anywhere in canada, otherwise there was no need for this behaviour. Horrible service. Lastly I ordered the stirfry - absolutely disgusting, i want to throw up typing this. It was mush noodles with some king of disgusting sauce. Get this, that plus 2 beers to go was $73
My family and I are shocked and disappointed at the quality of this place. We reserved the New Year package for two couples a total of approximately $2,400. Where do I begin. First off, I am writing this review to save you, the reader, the money, time and aggravation. DO NOT stay here. DO NOT waste your hard earned monies. It is not a resort. There are no villas. There is no spa. Spa services are by appointment only and they bring in a third party. The manager himself told me that this wasn't a place originally designed for winters or for guests but rather, for "members". Our experience: - lack of hospitality by the hotel and restaurant staff with the exception of one waitress who was there one morning and she even told us that she doesn't work there anymore and was just assisting them that day; - the Club and the "Resort" in an obvious and obnoxious sort of a way, only cater to their "members". They treat their guests as second class citizens. I even inquired with the manager one evening about who a particular gentleman was because of all of the attention he was getting and the answer I received back was "he's a member here". - the New Years reception was garbage. Food was trash. In addition, my wife is pregnant so when we asked for a certain alternative for certain items that had alcohol, no alternative was given. They told us they had about 80 people reserved for that evening. I counted about 30. One live guitarist. Party ended at midnight and fireworks were at 10:00PM. Not sure what kind of New Years party this was. In addition, they charged 18% gratuity for a table of four when I was the one who went to the bar on two occasions to get my drinks as our waiter was busy conversating and assisting other guests. When we asked him for the New Years swag which every table had an abundance of, he responded saying "this is all we have". Again, a total joke. In addition, he provided the table beside us with a "complimentary pint of beer". I work in the service industry and have a background in restaurant service. If you are going to do something for one guest, be prepared to do it for all. We will never come back to this resort and we strongly recommend against coming here.
Attended this resort for a work retreat. The grounds are so nice and very well kept. Staff was very inviting and helpful. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well laid out. The balcony was huge and had a great view of the golf course. The golf course was top notch and very well groomed. They constantly have workers fixing, cutting and cleaning up the course. The club has is very nice with an awesome patio that overlooks the course as well. At night they brought out theses fire pits that were so awesome and such a good idea. Everyone in the group loved it! The only reason this review is only 4 stars is the food! The lunches provided were chicken Caesar wraps that were so dry and had barely any chicken in them. The whole group said the same thing so I am not the only one. The dinner was decent as the steak was really good but the portion sizes were so small. I left dinner hungry! The next day they provided sandwiches that were once again very bland with one little tiny slice of beef or whatever the meat was. For a place this nice you would think they could make a good sandwich and wrap. Very disappointed as the whole time I was there I was hungry and left feeling dissatisfied. A full stomach goes a long way! Overall the place is beautiful and the nature is top notch. I would visit again.
The place is simply lovely. Staffs are very patient, kind, warm and welcoming. Rooms are clean and spacious. The ground floor studio we stayed in walks right into the golf course. The night sky is clear and beautiful. The pool was quite beautiful but quite a walk from the main residence area. Got a bit lost with directions, a map or handout at the front desk will be extremely helpful.
This was one of the most disappointing places that I have ever stayed at. Beware! We booked a “villa” for my birthday a few weeks ago. The villa was basically a townhouse in a row of townhouses right next to a construction site. It looked nothing like the pictures. The bathrooms were dirty with hair and what looked like cat litter. We went to the restaurant the first night. It looked pretty from the outside. However, they didn’t have half of the menu and the food that they had was horrible. I tried to book a spa appointment about a week in advance and no one picked up the phone at the spa for a week. We left without ever getting a hold of anyone there. We went to get breakfast the next morning and were told that we couldn’t because the restaurant was closed for a wedding. No one told us about this when we made the booking. The staff did not care whatsoever. In fact, the general attitude of the staff at this resort was that they absolutely could not care less about their guests. Thank god we brought our own food. I have many more disappointing examples from that weekend. Considering how much we paid for our “villa”, this was by far the most ridiculously disappointing experience.
Place was nice but could have enjoyed the stay in either winter or summer! April is definitely not a good time for this. Rooms: Rooms are good size Food & drinks: Could have been better if they served breakfast as well, as it’s far from the city n have to drive 15-20 mins for snacks. Noteworthy details: Will be awesome to go in mid of winter or in summer, April was not worthy as there were no activities to do .
A clear disconnect between what is being promoted and the reality of what this “resort” is. 5 star prices for mediocre accomodation & facilities. If you’re considering using their “spa” expect a make shift room with a massage table put inside .. sent an email to the hotel to share some feedback about our stay and have received no response. Very disappointing.
