Would recommend to anyone of any age. My husband and I liked it more than my 2 kids did I think. Definitely plan on staying the whole day or you might not get through the whole place. So much to look at and play with. Amazing place if you love science and history. Food was okay and gift shop was a disappointment. Not a lot of selection for such a big museum like that. Parking garage is kinda expensive so prepare for that too..
What an awesome place! Hands on fun for my family. My kids are middle school and High school age and had a blast exploring this place. Heck I had fun exploring the exhibits! Parking was super easy and close! The food court area was chaotic, but that's to be expected in the summer in a big city. The food was great!
It was good. Our children ages 5-17 loved it. Recommend planning on spending at least 5 hours to go through all the exhibits, or more if you watch any shows. Parking is a bit expensive, but on par with the city. Staff was nice. You can leave, and come back in with a handstamp.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
Fantastic experience in this vast museum. There were so many hands-on activities for the kids but the explanations for each activity were direct and easy to understand. The museum was close to the T station and we spent more time there than we planned, because of the amount of interesting things to do. The food court was not very big but there were enough decently priced options for the family. This is certainly a place I would recommend for families.
This is really good museum. It’s pretty big and well designed. They have exhibits that cover a wide range of topics. It’s set up in a way that is very intuitive. There’s a few interactive games etc that are really cool. I think a wide range of ages will enjoy it. There is a store and a restaurant. There’s parking available, is very close to a T-station. We walked from our hotel and was an easy walk. The harbor is right behind it and the Duck Boat Tours go from the same place It’s big enough that we never felt like it was too crowded. Well worth visiting.
If you like to go to museums, please set aside a good time to go there calmly. It's my second time that I went there! I simply love that place! The museum is near from t station science park/west end and you can go buy can and stop in their parking garage must check the garage hours on website. Go there wearing comfortable clothes and shoes because you will walk A LOT! The museum is totally interactive and in the green wing you can follow a knowledge trail! It's very cool experience! Check the attractions before go to be certain that you won't lost anything! There is a lot of bathrooms and place to fill you water bottle and there is a huge place with some restaurants there red wing where you can take something to eat. You can save money being a member of the museum or you can have a free ticket becoming a member from public library! I strongly recommended going there if you are visiting Boston.
I used to come here as a kid and I’m now able to bring my children here. I enjoy this place now just as much, if not more than I did as a child. It’s always amazing. It’s cool to see some of the staples still there like the piano stairs I played on as a kid then watched my children play on. And the lighting room. How cool!!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Used a reciprocity agreement with the NC Zoo to visit the Boston Science Center for free. Spent the entire day from 9am to 3.30pm visiting with my kids. There were enough exhibits and interactive activities to keep them occupied the whole time. They loved most of it. We didn't watch any of the shows. Definitely a great place for kids and even adults.
We would give this place more than 5 stars if we could. We spent from 10:00-4:30 at this museum while on vacation, and still didn't get to see everything! We took in an IMAX movie and saw the Lightning Show and the Live Animals show - all of which we recommend. As parents, it was nice that everything was hands on, and it was great to see practical, FUN applications for programming, engineering, and the sciences in general. Cannot recommend enough for a family visit!
This museum is always fun to go to. There are plenty of exhibits to see and experience for children and adults of all ages. The food court offers plenty of options can be a little pricey for some. They do have the option to bring food with you and eat at the tables. The museum has hand sanitizer stations located at every exhibit and they have hand washing stations. The bathrooms are also very clean and maintained well. If you can get the season pass it is well worth it.
