I was incredibly surprised by the thought and care placed by the staff for our visit. They were patient with our questions, gave us ample time to explore further exhibits on our own and use the drone we brought to use on the Lawson site. It eas especially thrilling have the augmented reality tour outside at the Lawson site. I will definitely be going back again. I felt like I learned a lot.
Amazing place to visit, they have VR and personal guided tours and Outdoor Lawson siteVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
It's quite small and geared for kids but interesting nonetheless. The lawson area is underwhelming... just a field with little to help you imagine how it was and a short walk through woods to the entryway to the village. It was worth the cost of entry and the staff were very friendly.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We had a great day and learned alot. The staff made this trip very fun and informative. We will come back again and we have already recommended this place to other families. I do wish we could have gone inside of a longhouse though. The gift shop is great. Bring money
Enjoyed it a lot, very interesting. Went at beginning April, so nothing much was happening, i was the only one there, but i loved walking in the forest seeing all the beginnings of spring.
Lovely museum specializing in Ontario early history that not many have heard of or so it would seem. In addition to standard exhibits, they have a VR station and they are located next to an archaeological site: a town that is over 500 years old. I helped host a catering event there, which the owners tell me they want to start doing more of. So if you are planning an event and you are looking for a place to hold it, consider the Museum of Ontario Archaeology.
We enjoyed going at our own pace. Would have liked to enter the longhouse area but was locked up.
Awesome experience. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept our interest for the entire time!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
I saw different plant residuals there, which are from 1500 ad. They also kept some real bones from animals which they got during new constructions. They provide knowledge about that things , which they kept like sweet grass, which was used as a perfume in earlier days as well as accessories. I learn a lot there about past culture. They also made some paintings on the walls reflecting earlier days.
Nice little museum, had an audio tour you can play while walking around. Will deff go back again with the kids.
