We had an amazing experience at the restaurant last night. The food and service were excellent. There was a private event in the lounge and the restaurant side was packed. The food came quick, was tasty and several friendly staff checked on us throughout the meal. It felt like they were happy we came and made us feel welcome. As we left, I said to my wife "This is the best restaurant experience I've had in years"
Service and atmosphere were incredible during my last few visits! I did have an awful experience my first time there but that was when they opened in my area over 6+ years ago. Since then I've given them a go again and it was like night and day! My only issue would be the vegetables that come with the steak dinners. It's never consistent and I could tell the last time I was there that the carrots were frozen. Some were mushy, some were far too crunchy. I got maybe a half cup of carrots and 1 single piece of broccoli. For the price we pay for a steak dinner you would think the inexpensive side dishes would atleast be edible and fair portioned. Also my son ordered the big expensive steak option and visually it was presents beautifully and cooked perfectly but half the cut was all fat and tough grissle. He didn't mind though because the part that was edible for him anyways was delicious. That aside we will be back!
Food is decent but not nearly worth the incredibly outrageous price for the miniscule portion that you get. The cook on the steak is never going to be what you ask it to be, i've noticed over several visits. Some meals come default with a higher priced side dish as part of the meal lodge chips and when asked to downgrade to the regular fries, you'll be told that there is no price change... and if you'd like to upgrade to onion rings for example which is 30 cents more then the lodge chips, you'll instead have to pay the full $3.29 upgrade charge. Makes no sense. Service seemed alright but there's definitely room for improvement, especially with being more attentive to refills.
The food was great The waitress must still be in training. She forgot about a drink, didn't bring requested napkins and small plates for each person for the appetizer. She had the audacity to hesitate when giving the change from payment assuming she was getting a tip.
Very over priced. Very slow poor service even tho was only 3 tables of customers. Childrens meal burgers black, way over done. Wouldn't refill our tables waters. Small portion for large prices. Would not recommend. $96 for lunch without even getting drinks for 2 kids and 2 adults is unbelievable especially when the service is this bad! When we walked in, there was another couple waiting to be seated. The hostess appeared, greeted us, and seated the couple. While she was gone, a new couple walked in behind us. When the hostess returned, she said to us, "Do you mind if i serve this couple ahead of you?" She didn't wait for my response, but asked the new couple if they wanted a table for 2 and seated them!??? When she finally seated us, she just flopped the menus on the table in a pile, telling us a server would be with us shortly.
My 2.5 year old son and I decided to do a date night not even thinking how terribly busy a Friday might be. It was a busy night, I didn't catch the hostesses bame however she was wonderful. We waited about 20 minutes for a table which was fine. But then we sat for another 20 or so minutes after being seated before we were acknowledged. The hostess came to see if we had been checked on, then proceeded to take our drink and food order. We were brought our drinks and food by two different people. Shortly into our meal the hostess again came to check on us and bring us ketchep. I did ask to tip the hostess and our server was very understanding and polite. I understand the circumstances it being busy. I just really want to acknowledge the young lady who helped us. I was getting to a point where I nearly walked out. I did choose to leave feedback to the restaurant because I was really mad actually and their response was we will use this as a learning opportunity. We were there for 2.5 hours for a meal bevause we were outright ignored. We were seated in the middle area of the restaurant. I will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone.
I’m 99% sure the vegetables were dehydrated 5 minutes before they touched my plate, and they were actually difficult to chew. Never again this is too expensive for frozen, rehydrated food. The steak wasn’t even that good, maybe halfway to OK.
Mr Mike's is a great addition to Southern Manitoba. The food is great and the service is awesome. And if something is messed up with your meal - which doesn't happen often but is bound to happen since we are all humans - they are quick to remedy it no questions and no problem! Oh, and the Mike's Rewards are amazing!!Food: 5/5
wow wow like always the steaks bites are the best and on the side sticky toffee pudding
