I love this place PERIOD. Their fried chicken is juicy and fried to perfection. I love that it comes to the table HOT. I have never had cold or even warm food here... they cook it, put it on the plate n take it to the table HOT. Their hamburgers are huge n delicious. My mother said the liver n onions were delicious also...ill take her word for it lol... for the customers going there the first time... grab a menu by the door n have a seat on either side of the establishment one of their fantastic servers will be right there to help you.

Holy smokes they were not lying when they advertised "A burger the size of your head!". Good food every time we are there. Have not been disappointed at all, they even allowed us to stay a little late and order more food. Community supporting people eat at Mr. C's

The food wasn't as good as I'd hope.. I've seen the commercial and thought wow that looks great.. I was disappointed !! Big portions , good prices but the taste was not Good.. this was my first and last time there.. Sorry Mr C.

Wow! All these years, and look what I've been missing! A friend of mine took me here, a place I'd been meaning to try for a very long time. We went in the middle if the afternoon and it was still about half full, when most places are empty. I guess weekends are just mobbed. And I can see why. Best home cooking around, at EXCELLENT prices. Some of the best chicken around, and the best wings in Rockford. I've gotta try the 1 lb. burger (as big as your head), next time, for only $6.99. But it's going to be tough not to get the chicken again. It was SO good. Definitely no MSG in the chicken either, as I'm very sensitive to it. The homemade coleslaw is the best I've had too! I'll have to review even more when I've tried more, but such a great experience here. Nice location near Farm and Fleet on W. State, across from the golf course.

Incredible. Who knew the annoying guy on T.V. shouting "Go, Cubs, Go" would have a decent restaurant?! Better than decent! Fantastic. Is it the best food I've ever had? No. Is it absolutely delicious, filling, and full of soul? Yeah. Yeah it is. Homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. Lumpy, WITH skins. Fried chicken that's breaded AFTER you order it. Flaky AND crispy, and that's after a 30 minute drive home. I can honestly say I was both surprised and impressed and I will be back for more... Go, Cubs!!
