Thank you John and his team for their hospitality today. The greens are fantastic. If you are on the island, go and play Morningstar GC!!
My son, Noah, and I had a wonderful round of golf at Morningstar yesterday. Every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming. We really appreciated Terry seeing us off on the first tee, a bit of light banter eased us into the game. The course is well laid out; enough water to challenge me, and greens well protected by bunkers. Those greens were awesome; well contoured and in perfect condition. The dry weather has left the fairways a bit hard, increasing the distance of my drives. We will be back!
Had a great experience playing the course this past weekend. The round took exactly 4 hours, my brother-in-law and I were paired up with local members who were an absolute pleasure to play with. I had played here a few years back and I couldn't believe the transformation in not only the condition and care for the course amazing greens! but as well as the staff/management. It's evident there's a professional group who are committed and care about making this a must-play destination on the Island and I can't wait to make a return visit soon from the Lower Mainland.
Played twice in the last two weeks. During this period of time with water rationing on the Island the Morningstar team absolutely knows where to spend their money ... on the greens! The greens are in fantastic shape and challenging. I played another well-known course nearby and their greens are terrible. Yes, the fairways are currently hard and brown with the drought conditions but get over it people. If you play many well-known desert courses in Arizona there are NO fairways for the first 100 yards! As another writer stated, be happy that you get to hit longer drives with the extra roll!
Morningstar has come a long way back in the last few years, and it's become a 'must-play' course again for the mid-island. The greens are in terrific shape and the rest of the course continues to rebound to it's championship-caliber pedigree. It's become one of the great value green fees around, so great job Morningstar! I would rate 4-1/2 stars if I could. My only criticism of the course would be the lack of sand in the bunkers. Very hard to play out of. The pro shop staff is always very welcoming and helpful and the practice facilities are excellent. Will return. Regularly! EDIT: Upgraded to 5 stars based on prompt reply from ownership. Class customer engagement! I'll just shut up about the bunkers and not hit into them next time ;
Had a wonderful round last week. From the pro shop staff to the starter to the grounds crew, we felt very welcome. Despite the fairway issues irrigation system is currently under repair the course was a pleasure to play.....and with the fairways so dry we were able to get longer rolls off the tee boxes.....a "win win" in my books. Greens were in great shape. Very walkable course as well although the distance between holes sometimes can seem a bit "daunting". Overall, very happy with our experience at Morningstar and will most definitely return. Hopefully the irrigation system repairs will be complete by our visit....
I have played at Morningstar a few times this season and really enjoyed the course. It is under some stress now with broken water lines but the greens are great and the fairways are coping quite well. Will be back again soon! The restaurant has excellent food and service.
Nice course but there hasn't been any water on the fairways for a long, long time thus, no grass and hard, hard, hard! Greens are good and as I say, a nice course. People are complaining as the price hasn't dropped and it should if they can't put water on it.
From the woman in the pro shop that was so friendly we felt like returning family to the pleasant starter who took the time to give us pointers on the course we were treated very well. Enjoyed the course. It is definitely showing signs of returning to the course it used to be. Will be back.
beautiful golf club! My friend was playing golf while I was heading for deers! haha, I saw 6 deers twice! They are the most attractive neighbour of Morning star!
