Great Cantonese food. There's something for everyone on the menu. The combo's are very convenient options for groups. Service was good. Restaurant was very clean. Was nice to see the menus thoroughly sanitized
Moon Café is absolutely number one for their quality of traditional awesome dishes and insanely reasonable price point. We had the four dishes combo tonight. They threw in soup, half a chicken and dessert for free. Dinner for five + 5 beers came to $115. Just crazy. Local beer is $3.95 each. Crazy good old-school Cantonese food at ten years old prices. :
Ordered via UberEats.Terrible portion sizes and they charge so much. The beef brisket curry is mostly potatoes with tough pieces of beef. They charge $26.99 for it. They charge $12 for a tiny portion of fried squid served in a small paper bag. It didn't even fill half the bag. I paid $50 for both items. Total rip off. Avoid this place.
The restaurant seems so nice and tidy, the waitress is polite, and also very talkative. When the food is ready, we try the chicken first, the taste is marvelous. The beef rice noodle is tasty with enough soy sauce, covering each noodle. The final one is pork chop on rice, because one of my friends doesn’t like cheese, that’s why we order without it, but still the pork chop is still juicy and the tomato sauce is matched with rice. The second time I visit today, the food is okay but one of the waitress is rude. I order lunch with coke, they add $1.00 for the drink & my wife order lunch with hot lemon honey, they add $0.50, it’s okay for adding extra money for drink, but they forget to give us the drinks until we ask, the coke is filled with all cup of ice, I just sip a little bit and done, even my wife’s hot lemon tea, only two thin slices of lemon with no honey, as my wife complained about that, the waitress said that she added the honey already, she just get us some extra honey mix with water, l don’t consider it’s honey, it’s tasteless, watery liquid. Overall experience is totally awful, hope they can train a bartender for drinks and change their attitude otherwise no next time.
Super delicious HK cafe that reminds of the cafes I used to visit in Central and Kowloon. The curry beef was the stand out. Really tasty.Recommended dishesChopParking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
A delightful place, clean and spacious. The food is decent and portion size generous. I think this will be my next goto hk style cafe. I have yet tried their mini meals but judging from the dishes I ordered they must be good. I’m looking forward to next trip.
We were excited to try their food as it was recommended by friends. It might have been an off-day…maybe the main chef was late, maybe they were short staffed, maybe just disorganized…I don’t know, but we waited an hour for our food and drinks. Also, tables after us got food first! When asked about our hot drinks, the waitress said they’d run out and she didn’t have time to make them. Really?! Several items on the menu were out so we had to order alternatives. Even so, the waitress came back after a long while to say that they didn’t have the noodles I’d ordered for my soup. Taste-wise, the food was fine, though not above average. In fact, my Szechuan soup was not spicy enough and instead of Szechuan peppercorn, there was mostly chili oil. How disappointing! And there were no apologies for the lateness of our orders…I won’t be back!
For the same price, you could’ve gone to Kwong Chow congee and noodle house on Main or Cafe Gloucester on Cambie. Both serves up great Hong Kong style food and with amazing flavours. We ordered three dishes here and only one came out decent.
The steamed pork dumpling skin was very thick but the inside was flavourful and juicy. The baked fish with cheese was average and so was the grilled chicken and sausage on rice. Nothing really wowed me. But the last that served us was very nice and happy.
Moon Cafe is one of the restaurants in Vancouver. One of the Chinese restaurants in Canada, might I daresay! The Cha siu was course, rough and tasted of nothing. Almost as if they created it by using soup leftovers, microwaving it and dying it red. The sweet and sour pork was crunchy on the outside, but damp and near moldy on the inside. Cold almost. And to add further insult, the owner ignores you when you are about to pay. Never had a Chinese restaurant that tasted like this. It was unique, a uniqueness that I unfortunately never want to try.
