Fantastic experience overall! It took a while to get started seems like they're still working out non-VR computer kinks but it was a blast. Not all games are available on all computers, so make sure to think ahead for what games you want to play. Definitely coming back!
Fun place, needs some work though. THE GOOD: -Multiple games, rigged for up to 6 players -VR works well -Guests are free to join and they can see your game from TVs THE BAD: -They need to fix their mic setup. The mic of the person on my left was getting the voice of the person on their left, so I could hear double-talking in my headphones, making it it very difficult to understand. This could easily be fixed if they used nVidia Broadcast, but I guess they are too lazy to install that free software. -The employee needs to watch less cat videos on YouTube and do be more present, explain more. We asked about the controls, and he said they were explained in-game. They were not. We lost about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to grab a gun, how to move, how to reload. Same thing happens every time you try a new game. Since time is counted by the second, all that time lost was quite frustrating. -It would be nice if time was a bit more flexible. For example if you take a 1 hour block, you apparently need to be there 15 minutes in advance for explaining. So if you take a 2 hours block, you should get an extra 15 minutes since you don't need the explanation for the second hour. But the money-milking needs to be top-notch so the second your 2 hours is passed from the moment the system was turned on, screen goes off. Especially frustrating since you often lose minutes setting up the equipment, sometimes trying to fix the audio that isn't working, etc. -If you are a tall person, over 6'', you will get extremely annoyed by the cable over your head. It will constantly get stuck in your ears or the headset. They tried to fix this issue by redneck-engineering retractable dog leashes on the ceiling but it doesn't make much of a difference, they would need to use extending cables like the old phone cables, or go wireless. THE UGLY: none that I can think of
Very cool place and the staff is really nice! We all have our own room to play vr. A big variety of games like multiplayer and single player games and horror games. Great timer function which looks you out from playing other games when the timer is finished. Big spacious room you play in and Gabriel who served uswas really nice and would help whenever we asked him and he comes really fast and generally really fun and nice.
Condescending staff !! Broken hardware spent 10 minutes without remotes Buggy software ! STRONGLY recommend to go SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Really good first experience! Lot of games and you can play up to 4 players! Staff are here to guide through your session and really helpful!
So much fun at the MontVR at centropolis!! Not to mention the staff was absolutely amazing. We went yesterday, Saturday September 4th at 9:30 p.m and I do not recall the girl worker name but she was super accommodating. Game was very fun as well. Will be coming again forsure
It was cool experience, there are many games to try, some of them are hard to understand but once you get the hang of it it becomes fun. If you have issues with 3D movies be cautious to try this. Some people feel dizzy after trying this.
Had a fun time, just wish the timer started once you were all setup and ready to go. We lost about 10 to 15 minutes of our hour setting up and troubleshooting.
It is a pleasant experience, but you need to know how to play video games and how technology works. If you are like me and the last time you played was like 10 years ago. Then you are going to be lost. I took an hour to play random games, and it was fun even if half of the time I didn't know what I was doing, lol. Then I took an hour for the evasion scape, which was catastrophic. I got bored. I feel like there was not enough explanation. I didn't know what to do. So I leave the game like 20 minutes later. I also did the birdly it was like 5 min. thing, but it was enough because I got dizzy. Bref... For a 1 time, experience is ok.
Perfect place to try VR for the first time. It is affordable, they have a vast library of games and you can even play in coop ! The staff is very helpful and proactive. They do their best to improve your experience as much as possible. The gear is in good condition. Every precaution is taken to prevent you from running into a wall or anything else. Each player has his own room with a small rug that helps you notice when you are getting too far from the play zone. The helmet cord is also attached to the ceiling to prevent it from getting in the way. We had a lot of fun. I will definitely go again.
