Story

Are you wondering why we are called MONKS? Throughout history, monks left their homes and families to pursue their calling with other like-minded individuals. Never ones to rely on outsourcing, they trusted their own knowledge and skills to build what they needed. Over time, monks from all over the world would come to create self-sustaining hubs of scholars, inventors, farmers, and brewers.

For starters, we can thank monks for beer! What began as a necessary alternative to contaminated water, they fashioned into one of our most beloved beverages. The hourglasses you spy on our bookcases were also invented by monks! The push to serve locally sourced food is also thanks to monks. They were the physical embodiment
of the farm-to-table movement, centuries before it became stylish.
