A great non chain BBQ restaurant in the heart of downtown Midland. Food is smoked on site, and due to the length of time involved in the smoking process, some items may not be available. Food is fresh and well prepared with six different sauces for the entrees. Full bar with talented bartenders. Pepsi products are available. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and competent, also very willing to accommodate. Dinner is moderately expensive, but portion sizes are good. Protein and sides are reminiscent of an old fashioned smoked BBQ celebration. Family friendly, but not kid friendly. There are no distractions or special kids menus, but plates arrive quickly so there is little down time. Only 2 rest facilities in the restaurant. Both rooms are unisex with changing facilities and are very clean. I would advise going early as the restaurant fills up quickly around dinner time and can get quite loud. Overall, an excellent dining experience that I highly recommend. Vegetarian options: It's a BBQ place, not a lot of options but the smoked salmon would count for lacto/ pisces Kid-friendliness: More like family friendly. No special activities for kids, but many families were there with children. Parking: No lot, on street parking is seasonal. Wheelchair accessibility: Is accessible with wide aisles between tables
Very very good. Was in town while husband was at Santa School. I run a food group back in PA.. so of course have to sniff out the best restaurants while wandering this lively downtown!!! My favorite sauce is actually not the signature sauce but the traverse cherry. They also have very nice and crisp tots. So I bet the tot appetizer is good., no one wants a soggy tot with bbq on it. Highly recommend.
So GOOD. One of the tastiest spots in Central Michigan. This has to be one of the best BBQ joints I’ve been to outside of Austin Texas. The full rack of ribs and Pulled Rib sandwich were outstanding. Excellent potato salad and Cole slaw that are onion free thank you!!
Food and service was great as well as the craft drinks. The sauces were top notch. The reason for 4-stars was due to the tables being so close together. That chairs were back to back. Also the noise level due to being so crowded took away from the experience. Will get food there again. But to go.
Good barbecue and great service. Our food was done super fast and was not overly seasoned or flavored so the natural flavors could be tasted. The corn bread was incredible.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Excellent service. 12 hour slow cooked st louis ribs. Super light and fluffy cornbread. Loved the black and white chocolate and vanilla bread pudding for desert.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
Family members had told me how much they’ve enjoyed the food at MS&B, and I finally got a chance to check it out. They were right. My brisket dinner with cornbread, cole slaw and tater tots hot and verrry crispy was excellent. I especially liked trying all six of the sauces on the table, but the chipotle and Traverse City Cherry salsas were favorites. And the server was very attentive and she could not have been nicer. Kudos to you all. My only suggestion is that you advise your diners of the 3% credit card processing fee added to the bill before presenting it. It is stated at the bottom of the receipt, so my bad for not catching it till I got home, but a “heads up” might be in order. And next timeoh, yeah, there will be a next time, I’ll just pay cash!
We had the smoked turkey bacon cobb salad with tomato vinaigrette and a side of cornbread and mac n cheese. The salad was very good lots of good smoked turkey and flavor. The corn bread was sweet and not dry so very tasty. Was told the mac n cheese would be spicy, but wasn’t, it was also a bit on the cold side. Staff were all friendly and helpful with the food options. Would definitely go again.
This was our fist visit and next time we are in town we will be back. 6 sauces to choose from. The meat is smoked to perfection. They have a good selection of sides to choose from. The staff is friendly.
Incredible food and atmosphere. Plan to make multiple visits to work through the awesome menu. Too much to try in one visit. The wife and I ordered two meals each for the leftover's...Food: 5/5
