Mohawk Valley Community College - Rome

Im so happy I went to Rome MVCC instead of Utica. Utica was to big of a place for me. The profossors at Rome are amazing. Not only are they amazing but they teach and grade with heart. They recognize when you try and are extremely patient when you struggle. You are rewarded for your endurance and effort and almost every instructor and professor will do anything and everything for you as long as you show your willing to keep trying and keep learning. Within the first week I noticed the entire place is a giant family. Smiles are on all the staff members everyday and they are willing to stop at anytime in there day just to talk and say hi. You can get a coffee and just sit and talk with the staff in the office about there day if you want. The security guys and janitors all converse with the students and they ask how things are going. The professors don't look for perfection they look to see if your learning what they are teaching you and if you apply it wrong they lovingly correct you. Even the tutors are amazing and "real". They will be honest about there struggles in subjects when they were in school. They teach you tricks to remember things and will give advice on life if your a struggling soul or a burnt out one from school. I respect that about them.. Classes are smaller too. Utica MVCC is great for some people, but Rome MVCC is perfect for me. 5 stars across the board isn't enough to give on how well this college has taken care of me and has been their for me through my academic struggles, my non stop emails to professors and all my non stop questions. If you have learning disability's or other disabilities they work non stop to help you. Looking for a school to attend? I suggest Rome MVCC. You won't be disappointed.

Kathy in charge of financial aid was rude and abrupt they charged me double tuition ..they are not helpful at all I was born and raised in New York and they want a certificate of residency.was supposed to be a full time student there was an issue with one class (was told still full time) and they gave me as part time. Need to find a good school just as close I guess.
