I have bought 3.13 acres in the mountains. Huge wildlife population deer, antelope, bears, water fowl and much more. Somewhat remote but not too far from people. A hermits paradise or hunters paradise. Great amounts of water springs, streams and rivers and lakes. Some people live here all year round. I can't live here and would like to but maybe I should sell my land that I never use.

I live where I can see the Warner mountain range. They have many linked maintained hiking trails. There are streams, lakes, and Meadows . In most areas there is a lot of firewood around for campfires. The night sky is free of city glare. The air is normally clear enough to see mountain peaks 80 miles away. You can enjoy this area all four seasons. Alturas does have some stores but if you need special gear you need to bring it, and don't count on buying it locally. From the mountain peaks you can see into Neveda and Oregon. It is quiet and normally not crowded. This is a good area for horse riding.

It was an adventure! Snow was covering the paved road so we took a gravel alternative. It was ok except the trees blocking the road! We took our carry off-road and were able to get around them! It is stunningly beautiful!

Interesting landscape but very dusty. Camping is quite primitive but it is very remote and does get you away from the crowds. Seems to be popular with hunters.

Awesome places to go hiking when it's super hot down in the Sacramento Valley. There's nothing like the high desert, junipers, and sagebrush.
