John repainted our house last year and also suggested the colours. The colour scheme in our house was dated and we now have modern neutrals and a brighter looking home which compliments our oak hardwood and trim. Next we are hiring John in the spring to reface and refinish our oak kitchen. Top notch professional work and advice, looking forward to the kitchen cabinet project. Thanks again!

I contacted John for a last minute stair refinishing job at my new house prior to moving in. John displayed a level of professionalism, organization, cleanliness and pride in his work that you don't always see with painters. He immediately made me feel comfortable choosing him to do the work on my stairs. John was able to fit me in his schedule almost immediately understanding the urgency of my job. John used high quality paints, stains and varethane and his attention to detail and finished work was second to none. I would definitely hire John again for any future refinishing/ painting I may need and will continue to recommend his services to family and friends.

We are very happy with our kitchen renovation and brick fireplace painting. Replacing the doors and refinishing the cupboards with painting have made it look brand new! John is very detail-oriented, reliable and neat. We had very little dust and clean up and it was all done within a few weeks. We have recommended Modern Paint and Design to our friends and family. Subpar work. Very cocky and unreliable + shady. Doesnt answer his phone but is always on it at the job. The rest of these reviews seem fake. Buyer beware...no deposit for him!!! Maybe this review will help him treat others more fair.
