This is an OUTSTANDING family owned business. If you haven't tried them, you are truly missing out on a magical experience. We had them cater out wedding reception, they brought their smoker. Set up, and serve 75 people. The customer service we received during our event, was second to non. We unfortunately didn't take many photos of the food because we ate it as fast as they could serve it! We had halfed chickens, Rib tips, pulled pork as the mains. The only meat that was left at the end was half a tray of chicken. For sides, we had baked Mac and cheese, loaded potato salad which my husband states was made by God himself, and some scrumptious Cole slaw. Honestly for the price, I feel like WE cheated them. It was so good. If you have a moment to stop in and try them, you won't be disappointed.
I like to help black businesses as much as I can ,this one establishment is different especially in the tase category my sides were on point . The meats are tender . I personally went two day in a row that how satisfied I was .
Stopped by here for the first time for lunch takeout. The brisket, Mac n cheese, and collard greens were amazing. The best greens I have ever had. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
Hired this place to cater my family reunion. The Brisket was amazing and the two sides we chose were so good too. You definitely have to try it. We will definitely use Mj’s Backyard Bbq again.
Easy call for a 5 star, got that amazing backyard BBQ taste. Only regret is that I only just recently found out about them. Also has great prices if Biden flation has got ya down
MJ's Backyard BBQ is the spot! Best BBQ lunch I've had in Indianapolis. The portions for today's special were HUGE, Delicious, and for the $ I don't think you can beat this BBQ, WOW. So much sauce I had to wash my hands twice and the Chicken was the bomb. I'll be back as much as possible on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Thanks Matt, great food and great Customer Service, I'll be back and spread the word!
MJ catered our 4th of July bbq. It couldn't have been better. The food was great. Ribs, Tips, & Chicken Not only was the food delicious, but it was finished and ready for pickup right when he promised. We'll definitley be using them in the future. Thanks guys.

Best brisket I've personally ever had! It was juicy, thick cut, and the fat had been rendered to perfection. Sides were delicious as well. Definitely coming back to try out the whole menu.
