Missions Thrift Store

About

We are a Christian, non denominational group of volunteers who operate a thrift store in London, Ontario. all revenues are shared with The Bible League.

Story

BFM (London) Enterprises Society is a Non-Denominational Christian Organization whose Mission is: “Serving to place the Word of God worldwide in partnership with the Bible League of Canada”. Bibles for Missions (BFM) London Thrift Store is a high quality store featuring gently used clothing, furniture, housewares and much more in a pleasant, bright, clean environment. With over 11,000 sq. ft. of retail space (and over 16,000 sq. ft. in total) we have the privilege of stocking a large quantity and broad range of products. Bibles for Missions London depends on donations from the community and the work of volunteers. BFM sells good used products to raise money to place the Word of God worldwide as well as supplying the region of London-Middlesex with clean affordable goods.

The driving force behind our volunteer staff is a desire to see God’s kingdom extended by the spread of his word. This is accomplished by providing funds to The Bible League of Canada to allow it to minister in many countries, in a variety of ways, including literacy programs, women’s micro businesses, after school literacy, pastoral training, and many others. In addition we minister in our local community by providing good quality merchandise at a very resonable prices. Two elements contribute to our success – Donations of gently used goods and our volunteer workforce.

Volunteering is a healthy way to “give back” our time, which is one of the most valuable resources we can give especially in today’s fast-paced society. Most people volunteer with the intention of making an impact on others, but in fact they themselves are the ones who are most impacted by their service.

If you would like to volunteer for our store, please contact us via phone or email below. You can also read our volunteer handbook to get an idea of what it is like to be a volunteer with BFM.

Used to be called -Bibles for Missions it's a good Thrift Store. If you think a certain item is a bit too high you can ask if they would lower the price. Might say yes or no. They also have a silent auction. Used but in good shape items and clothes. Baby clothes, men's and women's. Kitchen used electronic items.

Very difficult organization to work with. Trying to orchestrate the logistics of them picking up furniture to donate was awful and time consuming. Staff was abrupt and rude on the phone and did not offer much in the way of trying to address the situation. I was made to feel my donation was an inconvenience to them. I understand most staff are volunteers, but there must be a way to better organize yourself if you wish to continue your success. If one has large items to donate, it will be easier to simply leave it at the curb or contact 1800 GOT JUNK (You should take not of their operational methodologies if you wish to improve).
