Well, when I shop at Mission Thrift, I tend to spend $50-$70 each time, finding men's and women's tops for $5-$8, unless they are $75 off! I'm VERY impressed with how beautiful, and refreshing the store is now! What a transformation, from floors to the top of the racks! Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the fantastic prices, need to try shopping at any other store--for example children's clothing are certainly not $2-$3 like at Mission Thrift!! It's my go to!
Store has been renovated. It's bright and clean.nWhen you go in check the screens over the cash register for colour tags the are at reduced prices today red tags where 75% off.nPrices are high.nI found a bowl with a big chip on it and they still wanted $7 for it.
The attitude and service from the manager and employees is very bad, especially if you need help or a discount, they show you two options buy or walk away and there is no discount at all and if there is, it is on items that have been there for a long time and they want to throw them away. The first rule of this business is that they take everything for free and should give it to people in need at a cheaper price than other places, but the manager and employees are abusing this situation. They don't even realize that if we don't buy from there and don't give them business, they will have to close the place in a few days and go find another job. They opened an auction for themselves and this is illegal because they don't have an auction license and this is an abuse of the business license. The worst experience I ever had. I won’t recommend this location for shopping.
Disappointed with the “new Mission Thrift Store” may have been renovated but prices have gone up. They use to have various displays of certain items, be it Christian items, lakeside chachkies or items made specifically out of wood and more. Now it’s actually more time consuming to find something you may be looking for for a good price. Certain items that would be considered “treasures” or “great finds” when found are now up for auction with prices being far higher than one should find at a “thrift store.” Considering the inventory is made up of Free donations and the store itself is suppose to be run by a “Christian non-profit” it’s very disheartening. Prices need to come back down. This store once had great deals and sales but now it appears it is no longer about helping the community but about helping themselves. Some pricing is shocking, you can purchase the same items new as they are charging for used. We’re hoping some of the old ways of the former store will return but sadly not holding our breath.
I have being a loyal shopper at this Mission Thrift store for many years, mostly because I'm a senior and I want to help single parents. For the last few years I was purchasing $5 or $7 bags of clothing for children that are desperately needed in our community. I have bought warm snow suits and boots ect. I was unable to do that this year due to the increases in cost. Now you've taken even the little items and charged 3 or $4 for each one. Any young mum on assistance could never afford that. That's her food for her child. You've made it impossible for people like me to help those people. I'm on a pension, but I can afford $7 or $14 over a week or two to help these people. What are you doing to help them? The mission services, people overseas as well as in Canada, but these young people are in our neighborhood and I am donating to help them and you're putting up blocks, every time I go in there's another block, and rising prices. I'm very disappointed and I think something should be done about this. Apparently there's a new manager and all these things are changing she needs to open up her eyes and see what's happening out around her store. I have decided to not donate to the mission until such time as they show sensitivity and a better way for our very low-income people to survive and use what thrift stores were originally for. I am asking you to help me help others. I will expect an answer to this. And not just something that tries to placate me and shut me down. I believe that my god would not want greed to overcomencompassion. This is such small request for such a big reward. I look forward to hearing what your plans will be for the future. God bless you.
