Mio Motel

We stayed here on Saturday, and it was a great experience! I had a chance to chat a bit with the family that is currently running the Motel, and they seemed very nice. The woman in the office was very pleasant, and shared some of the history of the Motel with us, which was fun to learn for sure! We got in to town quite a bit early, and they already had our room ready for us! It is in a good location with a McDonalds on one side, and a Family Fare (Grocery Store) on the other. They were in the process of updating the landscaping, and it is really starting to look very nice. The room was larger than I expected, and the couch inside was a nice touch! The only issue I had was the lack of any kind of ventilation fan in the bathroom, but small potatoes indeed. You can definitely tell the building is older, and the stairs seemed a bit uneven and a tad shaky, but i didn't feel like I was in danger at all. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would happily reserve a room here again when I return to Mio.

Amenities were decent, but minimal. Room had a/c, mini fridge, microwave and was kept up well. Staff was very nice. Free wifi is a plus. It's within walking distance to a super market and a couple restaurants. At least on the ground floor the ceilings were quite low so you're 6ft+ tall you may feel a bit claustrophobic. If I'm in Mio again I'd feel comfortable staying here.

We have stayed here for 10 years. Sorry to here of Pete's passing. Still family run. Clean rooms with refrigerator and microwaves.
