A place I've been wanting to visit for years and finally was able to. The displays are incredibly detailed and amazing to look at. A range of different themes for each area, although it would've been nice if there was more space themed displays. Also was expecting to see more castle or medieval displays but there was just the one small section at the end. My favorite was definitely the Great Canadian Railway. Very cool to see the display start in old Vancouver and span all the way to the Maritimes.nnIt would be best to visit early in the day before it gets busy because it's pretty cramped inside and it would be difficult to navigate with a lot of people there. Also it's not exactly mobility friendly either, from the small ticket gate right at the start to the narrow walkways through all the displays.nnCool place overall and I'm happy to have finally gone to see it.
I was rather impressed in a good way by this museum. I went there on a rainy day and really enjoyed it. There are many different types of miniatures, representing historical monuments, places or events that happened throughout America like the American civil war, Railway building throughout Canada and in the world like World war II. I loved the representation of the circus times, this was incredibly well done. Then you move to other types of miniatures like doll houses or actual representation of houses from local families. There is also a section for the mystical or fantastic worlds, including representation of Cinderella or Camelot. The details on all are just incredible and must have taken ages to build. Well done!
This place overdelivered. They have something for everyone. From war reenactments, fairy tales, and many other important pieces of history told in miniature form. The attention to detail is outerworldly. I'm pretty sure I will have a hard time finding anything else in the world like this. If you're in Victoria this should be a must
Amazing place, squat down to be at the same level as the miniatures and you enter a whole new world :DnnPrepare for around 2h to get through the exhibits. Totally worth the admission fee. You might want to come during less peak periods else could be difficult to see the exhibits
I grudgingly went with my wife and family thinking I was going to see a bunch of doll houses. Even though there were some on display, there was so much more. Elaborate battle scenes from the 1400s to the World Wars. Not to mention huge fantasy displays covering some of the most famous stories from the past. The cost was minimal and well worth it.
