Got beef rib with a side of baked potatoes. Beef rib was quite delicious and memorable as it had a sweet flavour profile while potato wedges were alright. Just wanna try something from Ryan Reynolds’ favourite restaurant in Vancouver! nThe staff were quite pleasant as we looked around the restaurant to see if we wanted to dine in - which had a cozy atmosphere but we opted to do takeout as it was getting late.
We decided to stop by Minerva’s for a late-night dinner, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in Vancouver. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that made us feel right at home. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which added a special touch to our evening.nnNow, let's talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! I ordered the baked lasagna, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The dish arrived in a shallow bowl, generously topped with a layer of baked cheese, which is exactly how I love it. The cheese was perfectly melted and had that delightful, slightly crispy edge that makes every bite a joy. Beneath the cheese, the sauce was rich and flavorful, with just the right balance of tanginess and sweetness. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with a texture that held up beautifully under the sauce and cheese. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into preparing their dishes, and it really shows in the taste.nnKnowing that this is Ryan Reynolds' favorite spot in the city only adds to the charm of Minerva’s. It's easy to see why this place has earned such a glowing reputation. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the ambiance makes for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I can't wait to come back and try more from their menu!
Minerva’s restaurant has two sides - a bar and small eats portion and the actual restaurant portion. If you’re waiting for friends before they arrive, you can enjoy a drink, and even better during happy hour, before you are seated at the restaurant.nnWe ordered the chicken souvlaki and the roasted lamb. Both portions were huge and we brought back leftovers for the next day. The roasted lamb was well flavoured but not as soft to cut through. The potatoes were so well seasoned and was the best part of the dish. The chicken souvlaki dish was just average and wasn’t really memorable other than the potatoes.nnRestaurant feels very family-style and you can find a range of dishes that would suit your palette.
I’ve been here twice, once one year ago and again a couple of weeks ago. Food has been consistently good. Their lamb shank is top tier. Service was okay during my initial visit a year ago but was great during my most recent visit! We dined in during a time when wine was available at a discount and our male waiter recommended a good red variation to pair with our meal. One downside is that their tzatziki doesn’t come with the entrees. It was good as well, nonetheless!
Family owned since 1975. Apparently, Ryan Reynolds favorite restaurant in the world.nGreat food, generous portions and friendly staff.
