A very lovely place to visit. To start with lots of parking spaces, picnic tables and tons of natural beauty to enjoy. Anyone loves to be close with nature, check this location. Kids can play and run around while you can enjoy. Trails are available to explore. Forest habitats can be noticed hear and there. There is an admissions free from May 21 to Oct 10: Adult $4.50, Senior $3.50 and kids under 15 are free. Park is opened from 8am to evening weekend 9pm.
It is such a beautiful park! It is a good place for walking and looking at nature's beauty. There are benches next to the lake where we can sit and look at the lake view. The lake view is calming and relaxing. Great place for children too. Thank you:
This is my go to park to bike, walk, jog or just to enjoy a beautiful day. It is a huge park with lots of parking, main washroom and portables on the main park. 2.3 kilometers of trails, a Beach area but not suitable for swimming. Lots of picnic tables. The park opens at 8am and entrance is free on weekdays. Weekends and stat holidays is $4.50 for adults, 3.50 for seniors, children and under is free.
Nice excellent view u must visit for fall colors. Good Cycling track walking track beautiful Rouge River dam you can find lot Of fishes also 153 hector wildlife sanctuary ... A nice wooded gravel trail that goes east from the parking lot to the dam, with wide-open fields and wildflowers. There is an entry fee. Accessibility: There are at least four designated accessible spaces in the large paved parking lot by the picnic shelter at the east end of the trail inside of the trail loop. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved asphalt or gravel with bridges with railings and typically at least 2 meters wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle 5% or less except for uphill steep sections 8-12% at about 0.7 and 1.1 kilometers when going counterclockwise. Hikers using wheelchair/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. All-terrain tires or motorized equipment may be needed for the unpaved sections or steep areas. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.
We came on a weekend and the park had the right number of people. There was a vast amount of park for everyone. Watch out for bikers as the trail is shared equally between both. There are also tire pumps for bikers. Be aware that this is for families and the walk is on paths versus a hike. There are also alot of bridges and a dam which is great.
Did the loop around the Rouge River. The east section was a little bit challenging, while the south section was mostly wooded. On the west side, had to go along the McCowan sidewalk to cross the bridge to re-enter the park to close the loop. It was just over 7km in length, overall was pretty easy trail. It was gray, the photos looked like black and white.
After all these years I finally checked out this Conservation Park which is really close to home and I must say it is really well kept, clean and a nice short easy trail to do with my 10 year old Pomeranian. The elevation isn’t too steep and overall it was nice to see how well maintained the park is. I would definitely come back. Wide enough trails to share with bikers, runners and those who just want to enjoy a nice walk. There’s areas you can enjoy by the water, check out the dam, public washrooms and plenty of parking spots available. Parking is free during the weekdays.
Spacious park. Great for group and family picnics and bbq. There's a lake where some people were fishing, some geese and birds, and a few walking trails. There's plenty of parking and enough room to find benches and shade.
Well maintained, beautiful park! We absolutely love going there for walks. There are a number of picnic benches and places to dispose used charcoal for anyone interested in doing BBQ. The viewpoint of the lake is calming. There are clean washrooms & parking space available. Great for stroller walks/biking/ running.
Such a beautiful quiet park. Perfect for picnic. For family or group outdoor events. Fall Scenery is awesome also the other season. Wonderful nature. Lots of benches. Entrance was used to be about 5. During pandemic we entered for free. Lots of parking. Every Canada day there is firework celebration. It is also closer to Markville mall and old Unionville
