The house league teams are disorganized, but fine if you just want to play recreationally. My major complaint is that the office is never open and there never seems to be staff there, so inquiring for information is a nightmare. The website isn’t helpful, either. Once, I was able to reach someone at the office, but they mistakenly told me that the team I was inquiring about was scheduled to start in the fall. It started in the summer. As a result, I missed an entire season. The club also isn’t doing well in competition, so ultimately I decided not to return.
Good if you want your kid to just hack around. Otherwise don't expect your kid to learn any discipline or any basic skills. Very disorganized from the adminstration to the inexperienced coaches. Coaches just seem to just look forward to playing a game of coaches vs. kids where the coaches can show off their skills and all the kids do is chase them and the ball around.
My kids love to play soccer, but hate and dread going to this league. We enrolled them to the Jr academy summer soccer program, and since the beginning it’s been chaos on the field for every session. Coaches are a bunch of young teens who can’t control the group of kids , and the kids have horrible bully like attitudes while the parents/coaches don’t do anything about it. It’s so disorganized and chaotic, kids throwing grass and rocks to each other during a game, coaches not really being able to pay attention etc. My kids are also currently with a different soccer league in East Gwillimbury. We don’t have any of these kinds of issues there, and my kids love attending their games there.
Programs are facilitated by part-time students who don't have soccer experience and dont want to be there. It shows in the way they organize the program and in their follow-through. Please do yourself a favour and try another soccer club. We sent multiple emails to the organization to express our frustration and disappointment, and nothing changed. I would give a rating of 0 if it were possible.
We registered our kid to the soccer program. On the first practice it was clear that this is not a place for our child. Coach didn’t pay any attention to what’s going on, how kids behave and what they do. Very unorganised and unprofessional environment. We attended a lot of different sport programs and this one was by far the worst. Then, on top of that, it took us 3 months to get a refund , emails go unanswered and calling them ends up on the answering machine
Unprofessional and ignorant. Signed up my son for U15 Rep Team for summer 2019. Paid in advance. Trainings started. After 3 trainings my son told me no coaches were assigned, only 5 guys playing with each other. The club did not even send an email or notification to us that there is no team. Asked for refund. Took 1 month and couple of attempts. No reply to emails from the club. My son is now without a team thanks to this terribly run club because all other teams in the region were already full. Beware
Girls program is mediocre. They will do their best to put you on a red team. After you sign up you practice with another team who is not even on your team and not at your skill level. Come game day you will see kids who are not even on your team or kids whom play at level higher than the red team league or OPL, come and play most of the game and important positions. It's a gimmick, don't waste your time here. Think they are running the club for certain group of kids, influential and wealthy parents.
We have joined this club for the 3rd year with my girls and it is the worst club!. There is no coach provided to the girls team and parent volunteers are expected to coach. There are parents who have no knowledge of soccer and volunteer and give their time for the benefit of their kids. There is no quality and no professionalism of sport. We have spent money and the children are playing what they already know with no training or coaching given to them to improve them . This is the first time I have seen a club charge money and not take any interest or even send someone once a week!! I as a mother advise other parents not to waste their time here and can get together in a field close to their home and encourage their kids and their friends to play together which is better than spending money to do the same thing.
I had signed my 10 year old son up for soccer in September and everything was pretty good. This was until, in January, we had received the news that my son had a concussion. And it was not his fault, it was the coach's fault. Right before a game, their coach was throwing the ball to their heads so they could practice headers. For three months my son had to lie in bed. For three months he missed all of his extra curriculars. For 3 months, our whole family had to speak quietly in the house, turn off all the T.V's for him. We couldn't go anywhere. I later contacted them and they denied everything. I told them my husband was there watching his son but didn't know that headers could cause something like this or were illegal, but again, they denied everything. They told me that they would call me back, but I never received a phone call ever. The least they could do was to apologize. So, I decided to get a sports lawyer and he told me that it was illegal for coaches to practice headers with a child under the age of 12. Obviously, I didn't have a good experience with this club. I would never recommend this club to anyone.
Good coaches, but VERY disorganized adminstratively. They need new people working in the office, and informed people. We left this year after receiving 6 different explanations of practice times - one from the tech director and coaches, and five different versions from five different staff members. For $1,000+ a summer, I'd expect better. Coaches adhere to LTPD, BUT have favourite players who play more often - this is not LTPD
