Most delicious ice cream I have every tasted. So creamy and smooth. I got the blue cookie butter in the signature bubble cone and husband got the very very chocolate cream. They make the ice cream in house with a giant nitrogen tank, so modern. The waffle cone was so hot and fresh but didn't melt the ice cream too fast.
Loved the taste of the ice cream and quite enjoyed the Bubble cone. Ice cream was very velvety and you could taste the freshness. I would have given 5 stars, but I felt it was a bit pricy won't stop me from a future visit though! And I do wish the bubble cone was let to cool down for a moment before putting the ice cream into a scorching hot cone. With that being said it still tasted so very delicious!
I enjoyed my experience here as service was quick because there weren’t many people here. The ice cream was so smooth and creamy! It has to be one of the better ice creams I have tasted. We tried the chocolate churro and the cookie dough and both tasted so yummy. I would definitely recommend this place to ice cream lovers.
Milkcraft used to be a novelty ice cream shop. I haven't been here since the ceiling collapsed and honestly, I don't think I will be back. The ice cream itself has always been good, but the rest of the experience left me yearning for the past. A few changes include: Only two types of icecream are made at a time, while the rest of the scoops come from a freezer. One of my favorite reasons for coming here was seeing my ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Which I understand they still use, but the visual of it is what is missing now. I can get a scoop of icecream from a freezer at just about any ice cream shop. There were two separate groups of people sitting at the chairs/bar stools that were not eating ice cream. One group just walked in and sat down without ordering anything. When someone in my group asked an employee about it, they said there was nothing they could do. I remember when you couldn't even sit on the outside chairs without ordering icecream. Normally I wouldn't care, but it is a small place and they removed about half the seating. A few of the employees didn't seem to know what they were doing and they were quite a bit rude. I ordered the almond butter with all the toppings plus whipped cream yes, I verbally confirmed I wanted all the usual toppings and once they handed me my ice cream after moving to the other side of the counter and about 5 minutes of waiting, they stated they did not have the almond slivers. I can understand being out of something, but please mention it when I am ordering! I probably would have ordered something else... They didn't have any soda for sale it used to be in the cooler and I didn't see the Dragon Balls. Kind of like a hollow cereal ball, but with liquid nitrogen smoke inside. If you have never seen liquid nitrogen ice cream made, it is really neat to see. But other than that, the experience wasn't great.
A different style of ice cream with some unique flavors and creations. The ice cream is very good, so there is no concern about that. Just know it’s a bit on the pricey side and there are limited flavors to choose from.
Fantastic ice cream. The flavors are limited, but the quality is great and they are creative. The bubble cone is basically like eating a Belgium waffle or pancake; it's rather doughy and kind of heavy. The actual waffle cone is crisp and light. Just be prepared for rather expensive bill. Two cones will run ~$20. Also, be prepared for your paper cone holder to leak after 5 minutes.
My prior experiences in years past have been very positive 4/5 stars with price being the main detractor, but my most recent visit 02/06/22 I found out that they changed their business model to no longer prepare the ice cream fresh in front of you for all of their flavors from the crème anglaise, they only do so for two flavors IIRC blue cookie butter was one of them and I don't recall the other, they were based on popularity. All other flavors are now scooped from a freezer like most ice cream places. This would only be a one star demerit if it didn't also destroy the super creamy texture that makes liquid nitrogen ice cream appealing and possibly worth the high asking price. If you are interested in going, I'd recommend you stick exclusively with whatever flavors are being made fresh assuming they even rotate. Otherwise, you will be paying a large premium for subpar ice cream for which much better alternative options exist e.g. Arethusa.
I had the mexican chocolate churro and honestly it was not good, the cinnamon flavor was strong and overwhelming. The place is small but nice, maybe needs a little more cleaning and parking is hard to find in that area. Maybe I will visit again to try a different flavor and update the review.
After today’s experience, I don’t think I’m ever going back. I haven’t been to Milkcraft in over a year and clearly things have changed. I used to LOVE this place but I came in today and my mind is blown. My husband and I came in and we just thought they were really busy with a bunch of teenagers or young customers. We waited in line and they never left. We waited for our ice cream and noticed the workers giving them free ice cream if no one claimed their ice cream. Mind you, these kids were waiting at the counter the entire time and the music was loud so it was really difficult to hear who they were calling. One of the workers called for the order once and then said “it’s free” and gave it to one of the kids waiting there. In my 20 minutes of waiting, I saw them get 2 orders that belonged to other people. I also witnessed one of the workers fix a dusty light fixture with gloves and then served ice cream with the same gloves. I love Milkcraft ice cream but I cannot see myself returning to this location. I also just read an article that says this location failed the health inspection back in August. I didn’t know this prior but definitely a reason why NOT to return to this location.
Just went here for the first time last week and tried the cookie butter ice cream in a bubble cone and I’ve been craving it ever since. The bubble cones are definitely the star of the show here but the ice cream’s nothing to scoff at either. Personally, as far as flavor and texture go, Milkcraft tops both Coldstone and B&J’s. Superb ice cream shop, looking forward to coming back!
