Pristine water and beautiful colors of the canyon. It's a painter, photographer heaven. Lucky to visit it on a Lovely day and admire it's whole beauty. As far as services there are a few box toilets ,a bridge that leads you to multiple trails and a information board. The hike to the bridge from the parking is hardly a minute. Though there are not a lot of parking spots, on road parking is available till a mile. There are two small grounds which make for a nice picnic spot on both sides of the bridge.
Great lil walk for all ages. Id be a little nervous with an off leash dog. Pretty quick walk and very scenic, splits into numerous other trails further on. It has its busy moments but if you wait them out, it's worth the view!
Beautiful spot for a easy and short hike with a cool suspension bridge. Not much of an elevation. Parking can get tight during busy times. Portable toilets by the upper parking lot area. Can get quite windy. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Lovely lava canyon with sheer walls and the emerald green Yukon river flowing through it. There is a pedestrian suspension bridge at the end of the road down to the canyon and footpaths along either side.
Really great short hike down to the bridge with beautiful pictures and great history. With more time great guided tours on the other shore.
One of 2 challenges for the gold rush stampeders in their handmade boats in 1898 the other was 5 Finger Rapids n of Carmacks as they raced down the Yukon River to Dawson City's Bonanza and Rabbit Creeks hoping to make a fortune. However Sam Steele of the Northwest Mounted Police kept all boaters safe by building a railroad along the canyon to carry the stampeders' ton of supplies through the rough waters of yesteryear and ensuring safety by putting an experienced captain aboard each boat through the canyon. Today Miles Canyon offers sightseers a pleasant walk along both sides of the cliffs via a seasonal road along the Alaska Hwy south of Whitehorse. The suspension bridge provides hikers, skiers and photographers a good view of the basalt canyon.
Great number of mountain bike trails including blue and technical trails. Riding along with this beautiful color river. Free parking on site.
Beautiful! A really nice hike with stunning views of the Yukon River.
Loved it! There are benches around the bridge and signs posted informing you of the history of this place, including a map of the trails. Accessible by car and foot on the Alaska Highway side and foot/bike only on the other side.
Amazing views with gentle hiking.
