Mike's computers was a good shop, we had bought laptops from them and had repairs done in the past but they are out of business. The notice on the locked door of the Laurel street shop dated March 15 /22 relating to bankruptcy of Mike's Technology Corp states the the property is in the possession of the trustee. I see here that other people have been trying to get refunds on large payments for undelivered orders. I'm only out a bike ride down the slope to the North Arm with my faulty laptop on my back.
In 11/30/21 I ordered 3 high end laptops that showed in stock and cost us upfront $11,806.17 wish I paid with credit cards and paying intertest until this is resolved as they did not ship the order, I had to cancel it after a long wait and they have not called yet to make the refund being 3/15/22 now. They were expected to take like 3 weeks to ship. The order showed "Shipping Soon" so we waited like a week and ask why that had not changed, they say they were back logged. We followed up every week or so and it was the same, until finally email after email they got backed to me with a reasonable explanation that they were short staffed due of Covid and there were some weather issues that delayed shipping but they said the order should be shipping soon. We waited again a week or so and nothing. They finally committed to a date for 2/22/22 the latest after we asked if it was better to cancel the order and they said it would also take a long time as they were backed queued on refunds and only reimburse a small amount daily so we waited again for the shipping instead of canceling and nothing, I was so frustrated, I just wanted out at this point from this disappointing transaction. I asked for a cancelation and weeks are passing and still no one has contacted me to arrange anything. I called and can only leave voice messages, and the website seems down since 3/11/22 saying it’s under and update processes. I am a small company and that was big investment, and this has cost me so much time, money and frustration and it’s so unfair that they took my $11,806 immediately and I have to wait until its convenient for them to return it with all what they already cost me, and now not even a follow up. There is a pattern with other complaints I unfortunately just saw in google reviews and BBB. I would have been more careful investing on them if I saw that earlier. Hopefully someone can help me sort this out and make sure this is not happening to others. Please help !
I used to love mikes and used them frequently in the past years. Sadly I was let down when I got ghosted on a refund for a 2 3080 preorders leaving me nearly 3500 dollars gone. I was told to be given mailed a cheque, but to no response back after a month. Store does not answer calls and I have emailed multiple times. They used to respond quickly, but now have completely ghosted. I see TD bank has recently filed a lawsuit against them and I hope to get my 3500 back as this is a large sum of money.
First time ordering from these guys and i am quite impressed with the customer service. Decent selection of products. Despite the logistical issue I had, they were able to sort things out. The business manager and the person in the shop was able to get my order to me. Thank you again and looking forward to conducting future business with Mike's Computer Shop.
I recently found myself with a dead monitor, and facing the daunting task of replacing it immediately because it's my sole work monitor. I have no laptop or secondary monitor, so I couldn't perform any work without it, and as a self-employed contractor I was losing income without it. Andrew at the Vancouver store could not have been more responsive or helpful. They immediately set me up with a loner monitor and found the eventual replacement monitor which was somewhat obscure and hard to find, and he did it incredibly fast and updated me through every step of the process – something that is greatly appreciated when I was in panic mode. Customer service like this seems to be a thing of the past. I actually can't recall the last time I've have a more courteous, honest and helpful consumer experience. I would recommend Mike's Computer Shop, specifically Andrew, to anyone needing help with anything from computer repair to new equipment. 10 out of 5 stars! Also, they have ample parking, which is often a drag!
Graphics card preordered October 15th 2021. Order canceled and Refund requested December 5th. Order 486680, in the amount of $1243.18. Today is February 26th 2022. We are still waiting for our refund. Have made three inquiries January 4th, 30th and February 24th, but get a stock answer that the request has been expedited. Have been Mike's customer since our son bought his first gaming conputer about five years ago. But this is the first time we have had issue. It reflects very poorly on the business and its ethics. Not sure how to proceed. Looking into getting legal advice..
Preordered a graphics card in June of 2021. It is now March 2022, and I still had not received the graphics card and received no reply when I tried to email customer support. Do not do any business with this fraudulent retailer who takes pre-orders for products they do not have.
Summary - Great staff, great service, great prices. The store is clean and organized, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I am very impressed so far with Mike's Computer Shop. Went into Mike's today to order some parts for a desktop build I've been researching. I'm not the most or least tech savvy person when it comes to PCs, and I found the staff to be incredibly helpful. I spoke with Tristan who was very polite and friendly. He was patient as we went through my shopping list and put together my order as some of the components will be coming from the warehouse or out of province. Tristan made sure I had every part I needed for my build, and that each component was the specific piece I was looking for. The entire process was smooth and reassuring. Tristan had answers for all my questions, and I never felt as if I was being spoken down to, or being pushed out the door in a hurry. Most of my parts are expected to take only a few days to arrive, the only exception being a specific RAM kit I insisted upon which will take a week or so. And, they will hold onto my parts until I'm able to pick them up. Very convenient. Very pro consumer. I'm very impressed. The entire experience was great, and I look forward to doing more business with Mike's.
Gave 1 star cause i couldnt give it zero stars. Purchased a Synology NAS and was provided a fake tracking number. Messaged customer service who apologized and said they would get back to me and never heard a word after that. Several messages later and still nothing. Read other reviews where other buyers were also provided fake tracking numbers and did not receive the items purchased. This place is a total scam. Do not buy anything from here.
I ordered something on the online store and a $10 coupon was provided. The actual coupon was only $5 , but Ezra helped me investigate. It turns out that the website was not updated to say $5 coupon for a $100 purchase and the old promotion was there. They honored the old coupon and provided excellent customer service while doing so.
