My favourite place to shop. Staff is so friendly. Preferred place to buy all my produce as seems to last. Yes prices are a bit higher, but love I can shop whenever. And they have some pretty good sales on quite often.

I love coming into Metro Bowmanville. They have everything that I could possibly need without having to look to hard for it. The store is very well layed out and visually appealing to the eye. Great place to shop!!

Todays experience: I had purchaced 2 pet items at the pet store, seperate from the Metro and purchased items NOT sold by metro. They did not have a big bag, so I carried my bulky items (2) to the carts at metro and went about my shopping. Upon checking out, the cashier at the next isle(#7) came over and asked if I would like my items bagged, then proceeded to check my cart (loss prevention wise understandable, but she is not loss prevention not security and out of her depths) She then proceeds to ask directly and desperately if the Pet items were from Metro, effectively, accusing me of keeping goods in the cart and attempting to steal them. She specifically asked for each item, "is this ours" ok "is this ours" as if I cant see the items in the very top front of my cart. Wiith the recept in my front pocket, I told her where they were purchased. THEY ARENT EVEN BRANDS SOLD BY METRO! Also you have a cashier who believes she only has to "ask if" someone is over 25, I say yes and she say ok, and sells me whatever Ive put before her. Fix your business Metro, bowmanville location is pathetic. Clearly they Dont Care. Previous Review:ALWAYS inspect before you buy. I didnt notice at the store, that the meat was dried out and off colour. The buns were crispy/crusty and falling apart, dried out. Once at home and looking for my snack, I noticed the offish meat edges. When I separated the sandwiches, I found a clear colour difference. The buns are really dried out and the meat was completely disgusting. Photos dont do it justice. I bought Garbage, and it isnt the first time. "Fresh to Go" is NOT relyable nor recommend. Its better to spend the $$ and make your own sandwich/wraps. This isnt the first time Ive had to throw away just purchased food from this location, within 20 minutes of paying for it, but it will be the last. Store #453 kept my recept.

Good meat variety. Not a lot of vegetables. Quite pricey. Good selection of household items. Cashier staff as always nice and friendly.

I’ve had a few issues with their meat being turned before the expiry date and some smoked oysters I bought had expired in 2016. I noticed the oysters right away and immediately took them back. After I returned them I checked the aisle and aisle display and about 1/3 of their stock had expired a year ago (at the time). I am posting this now because I just encountered this issue agian with a pack of Irresistables ground chicken that had turned when I went to cook it. Just a PSA check your food from this Metro and keep your receipts.
