We went here today to try to find a domestic duck for New Year’s Eve. I was very impressed with this store. The produce section was very well stocked and fresh. They had a great selection of seafood, both frozen and fresh. The meat section was also impressive. Prices were on par with most other stores and the quality was great.nnUnfortunately we didn’t find the duck we were looking for but I’m glad we poked my head in here despite that. I wish we had a place like this closer to where we mostly shop.
I like to go there because they have very good cuts of beef and a good variety of seafood and fish. I also like the cookies and cakes in the bakery.
Ordered a fresh 2 go pizza on Oct 11 around 3:20 pm for kids dinner and picked up the pizza after 20 min. Didn't notice any different and the staff didn't mention anything. But when got home, kids said the pizza was too hard to bite. When I checked the bottom and noticed the dough was totally burn and all black. Can't eat at all. Very disappointed. Have to dispose it. Waste money. Have good experience before.
Came to move close to this placennOne day , just close to closing time before Canada Day , the employed woman that stands at the self serve check out became very flamboyant about announcing that she was was Canadian and that her family has been here before anybody ! as she drew the attention of the customers self checking . She continued to announce “ Happy Canada Day ! “ in a way that made all of us near the checkout un comfortable.nnThe lady I am with for over ten years asked her why she was not in uniform ? About a minute minute later , asked her if she was drunk .nnThe employee responded that because she was Canadian , she did not have to wear a uniform . And that further more . She did not drink but at least she is not stone sober . There were people present were most likely of immigrant background .nnVery uncomfortable.nnThen she motioned with her hands that if she had her man , me , that she would slather a steak all over my ass .nnI know this is almost unbelievable , but true .nnThen she exclaimed that she was crazy. !!!nnThe lady of most likely immigrant background standing next to my lady at this point , exclaimed ‘ I am crazy too ! ‘nnVery , very uncomfortable!nnI came to the till , self check out as the employee kept exclaiming happy Canada Day !nnI returned to the store latter to inquire if anyone else was offended to be reffered to the management .nnThe lady I am with had called management and a couple days later popped in to speak with management and spoke with the accountant femalennShe said if I me , had slept with the employee in question that my lady should take me for everything I owned.nnA couple days later my lady went into the store as we easily spend over 5 figures there per decade and the manager asked her to step outside for a chatnnHe told her that the police had been notified and she was not to come to the store anymore .nnHe asked her for our address and phone number in which she complied ;nnDue to feeling intimidated , by the male manager of whom spoke in a derogatory way , she felt in that she had done some thing wrong , even criminal .nnWow ….nnStill in shock !!!nnThe manager is a “ you know what “nn insert a description of him based on other one star ratings of the storennI am currently trying to figure. What the hell happened there.nnI have put them on pause and now look at the store with my five figures in my deep pockets!nnAnd Metro Motto…. To nourish the health and wellness of the community!
Not a great experience using the online order for pick up. Never received an email to pick up my order but I went to the store regardless as the pick up time had passed. I called the store and did not get an answer. I did not call the pick up number though so that was my mistake. Order was ready and waiting and the manager gave us a $5 coupon for the inconvenience. Got home and the items was incorrect and it was on sale when I ordered it and is no longer on sale. Even after the $5 off it cost nearly double what I had ordered. Everyone was apologetic but just a frustrating experience overall.
