I have visited Almonte a dozen times now over the past few years and this is my first time coming here. We stumbled upon it because we needed a restroom. It’s a very nice park along the river. Some picnic tables if you wish to have a lunch there. And of course you have the public washroom for your convenience.
We loved this park! Beautiful Indigenous sculpture featuring glass faces various Indigenous people, plenty of benches and picnic tables as well as large rocks prefect to sit on and cuddle up! Dog friendly areas with walking paths to the mill, waterfalls and epic fishing, all right near the heart of town! Love this park!
Beautiful small park. Free parking. No washrooms. Walk around quietly to come upon wildlife. Cool off in the clear water in calm bays or hike to the rapids. Turn over some stones and find odd creatures Saw a huge snapping turtle close to the parking lot area picnic spot. Picnic tables at look out spots along the trails. Hate people that don't take their garbage with them!! Well maintained trails and bridges through forest. Watch out for poison ivy. Went at beginning of July. Hot.
Barley any fish amd my lure stuck on the rocks, nice view though.
A beautiful quiet park. There is a small boat launch and dock, mostly used for kayaks and paddle boards. There are several benches and picnic tables around the park. As you enter there is an art installation with interesting glass faces. The rock displays are to the left. They have QR codes that you can scan for more information. Three of the rocks have interesting fossils.
