One of the best fried chicken spots in Canada: why? 1- local Canadian 2- Halal certified 3- The seating area is excellent 4- four levels of spicy food 5- they have a milkshake 6- their bread is Potato bread, not white bread, which is rich in fibre and nutrients than white bread and less gluten content.
Greatness within it's grasp. This experience is based on the bone in fried chicken only. BASICS DONE RIGHT! That's the biggest takeaway from this. Fresh, clearly brined, juicy, and crispy. One of the most supple chicken breast I've had in a while. I assume that the reason some people were turned off by this place was the lack of "zing" and spice that seem to be wrongfully attributed to every fried chicken place.
Very good! Patient staff, great dining area, and table service. I got the crunch munch sandwich combo with onion rings, the onion rings were huge and the breading was great, perfect amount for the cut of onions. The sauce on the chicken sandwich is your basic chicken deli saucemustard based I believe, it's good, the chicken was so juicy and crisp, I had one bite of my sandwich that tasted like a clump of seasoning may have not been blended or could have been a little burnt breading that tasted off but aside from 1 odd bite it was very good, a little pricy but that's what you pay for real food.
Do you remember the scene from Ratatouille where the food critic Anton Ego takes a bite of the food and is transported back to his childhood when his mom used to cook for him? That's how I felt upon taking the first bite of the chicken. Anyways, I came to Mero's with my brother and a friend. I was heading to Upper MGMT where I get my haircut but I was a little early so decided to try Mero's since it's new and I've never been there before. We had to take a few minutes to look at the menu. The man behind the counter was very patient with us as it was our first time. Did not rush us, even though there was another customer. We ordered a bunch of chicken strips - hot and mild with a few sides - fries and cheese fries. Literally everything came out of the kitchen fresh and we ate it in the store. Everything was piping hot. Chicken went extremely well with all the sauces they offer. I was very impressed. The price might have been a little high but based on the quality I saw - it was worth it. Fries and cheese fries are seasoned, they were enjoyable. I'm not a huge fries person lately as I'm trying to cut down on fries but from what I tasted, they were nice. I would definitely go back. It was very enjoyable, especially the spicy chicken with the bbq sauce. The coleslaw was a bit creamer than I would like - if you were going to try that. I would say customer service was very good, very friendly and patient. Food taste was very good, I haven't had fried chicken this good in a while. Restaurant seemed very clean - it is small, so if you are dining in, please keep that in mind as there is limited seating.
Tried this new fried chicken joint in the neighbourhood and was very disappointed with the whole experience. Chicken was dry, overly battered and sadly flavourless. Staff said they didn’t have many items on the menu so we went with the 3 piece meal with biscuit for $9.99, which was expensive and not tasty.
Finally tried this place for the first time and will definitely be back for more! Sandwich was really, really good. Had to wait close to 10 minutes for my order but food was beyond fresh so I didn't mind. Will be back soon !
The chicken in my sandwich was crispy on the outside and nice and jucy on the inside. The prices are a bit steep though. Note the front door is rather heavy so you have to pull/push hard.
What a terrible experience. I ordered from this restaurant via Uber eats delivery. I ordered the Only You Box which contains three pieces of chicken and a homemade biscuits. I also ordered a side of fries. The food arrived cold, despite arriving within 15 minutes, and I had to reheat it. What makes this all the more disappointing is that the restaurant is actually less than 2 km away from my home. The order was missing the biscuit and I reported the issue to Uber eats. the chicken and the fries were tasteless. I had to add seasoning and salt to both the fries and the chicken just to be able to eat it. Who doesn't season fries? Please save yourself time, money, and disappointment and do not order from this restaurant.
Super tasty spicy chicken and onion rings . The homemade biscuit tasted awesome. The order took a while but they were sweet about it and made up with a bottle of pop. Definitely picking up from here again.
Supper Fresh! Lots of love, make sure to visit if you're in the area. Crispy chicks in boots is my favorite menu item so far. Parking: Public parking available in the building
