I initially went to the clinic to re-new a cholesterol prescription. As I was new to the clinic, Doctor Ochs required blood work to be done. I was dismayed to the see the amount of testing Dr. Ochs felt was necessary as compared to testing done in the past. After getting the testing done, I was required to schedule another appointment to review my results with Dr. Ochs. I called the office twice asking why this was necessary and why Hart Family Medical was the only clinic I had dealt with in all the time I have been taking this medication that would not mail me the results. The result of the first call was a promise to talk to Dr. Ochs about it and get back to me (which never happened). The result of the second call was my being told I would have to make the appointment. I did this and went on 8/6/13. After getting into the examination room, the nursing assistant informed me that another test would need to be done to look for microscopic blood in my stool because "it is one of those tests you have to have done when you reach 50". Dr. Ochs then came into the room, handed me the results, told me they were good and "to keep taking my medication". Total time with me was less than one minute. To add insult to injury, they charged me $57 for this visit. Given that I do not have insurance, these repeated visits and testing are a costly issue and strike me as just a way for the clinic to generate more money with no attention being placed on patient concerns. I will NOT be returning to the clinic.
