Mercedes Salon & Day Spa

The first time I went to Mercedes I was there to get my hair done and a manicure and pedicure. I booked a month in advance. I waited an hour after my appointment time before being seen. The second time I booked for a bikini wax. I booked 3 weeks in advance. I was the girls only appointment. She didn't even show up to the salon until 15 minutes after my appointment was suppose to start. Then I had to wait for her to get situated. Completely unsatisfied.

Just had my Mothers Day Spa Day done today and it was Amazing! Sandra is a very friendly, uplifting and positive person. She made me feel comfortable immediately and I had a relaxing and enjoyable mani, pedi, back massage and facial. It shows that Sandra sincerely enjoys what she does and she does not make you feel rushed or feel like just another client to get over and done with. She is very considerate of being discreet and making sure you are always feeling comfortable. I felt sooo good afterwards, I can't wait to do it again! Lunch was included in my spa package and it was offered whenever I wanted it, and I had it at the end of my treatments as was suggested, and it was perfect! It was yummy maybe especially because it was served on a gold rimmed china plate with my water in a wine glass which made everything about my spa day feel so special! I am from out of town, but am considering changing from my regular salon to this one! The huge majestic building is a beautiful late Victorian style home built in 1891. The entrance and lobby are elegant but sadly not as neat and clean or as well maintained as would be expected and appreciated to see. That is the only downfall that I could find in this purely perfect day!

Have been for wax with Sonya multiple times. Even a year between she still picked up from the previous conversation. Services have always been satisfactory, my first with another woman took longer and while a couple spots were missed, she did a great job talking my through the whole thing. I like going here also because I've never had to book with a credit card ike most places do, great because I don't have one. Just called to book for next week, got the time and date I wanted, and with Sonya again.

Over the last few years my husband has gotten me gift certificates for a spa day here. My very first one was amazing. The woman who did all my treatments was great at her job, I even got a glass of wine and lunch. I loved it so much that my husband got me another spa day. This time it wasn't as nice. It was very rushed. During my facial, I was left for almost a full hour, with the treatment on my face, as she went and tended to others. She said "did you want your eyebrows waxed?" I replied "Yes, it is part of the package I got!" I was provided with lunch. My third visit again was rushed! It was so rushed that when she applied all the creams for my facial, she did my manicure as I was laying there. When we got to the other room for her to apply the nail polish I had to ask her to fix my nails as they looked so bad. I was provided lunch. My last visit was the worst. The massage was great though! The girl knew what she was doing in that respect, but that was it. She butchered my nails and cuticles. I was flinching at times as she was cutting my cuticles away as she was cutting so deep. She did not file my nails neatly or straight. She filed them so a couple of them actually curved inwards, others were filed on an angle. I had to point them out and either she was too embarrassed to say "oh, sorry" or she really didn't notice, because it took a long time for her to see what I was referring too. Upon arrival, we were not offered lunch. I had to ask her if I was not getting lunch. She said I should be getting lunch and took my order. At one point she was even told by someone that she needed to hurry up. My very first visit was great, but it has never been the same. I told my husband not to get me anymore spa days from there as I fear to see what the next visit would be like!

Erin did a horrible job on my hair and cause major damage. I have strands of hair that are one inch long and that was all regrowth virgin hair she treated and overlapped causing breakage . She attempted balayage that I requested and turned out in a solid horrible line with a root melt. I don't like ombré and had to pay hundreds to fix her mess! Beware
