Memorial South Park

Amazing place to play soccer and/or go for a run. The turf isn't amazing but it's better than others in Vancouver. There is also a park right next to the field for young children. Hope you find this helpful.

This place has a running track and some sporting fields and some other things like a playground. The playground is the old school wooden type where it wasn't designed to be super safe, and no fun for anyone, and definitively avoiding all potential litigation. So it's actually fun for kids to play on, which is important when you take kids out to go have fun in the park. You could stay home and not have fun if the park wasn't fun either. So people run around on the track and get their exercise, and then people put their kids in sports leagues in the hopes that when they get older, they will be too busy with sports to get into bong rips and bing drinking, but then they go to college and it was a lost cause. But the kids learned about sportsmanship and teamwork and taking care of their physical health, so it wasn't actually a huge waste of time.

Have been using the Memorial South Park for my running workouts with my run club. Always managed to find parking without having to drive around. Washroom is well situated. Seems to be a place frequented by other run clubs.

I love this park. It was created as a memorial to those who served in WW 2, I believe. It has a lovely dual boulevard going between soccer, softball and baseball fields. It used to have a lovely old house for the caretaker but the park board secretly got rid of that good idea. There is a rubber track around a cricket oval, a turf soccer field as well as tennis courts. On a warm sunny evening you can sit beside a duck pond and watch the huge trees protecting the boulevard swaying in the breeze. It's easy to forget you're in the middle of a busy city and busy 41st Avenue. The track is very popular with the local community, the other facilities are booked with the park board. There is a lacrosse box and some passive green space, this park has it all.

Great sports fields for soccer and baseball (cricket and ultimate fun to watch as well). Duck pond great for the kiddies...
