Melrose Grocery Store

I found the food to be quite good and appreciated the option to take it home either warm or cold. The prices were also reasonable, with the option to get a full meal for under $8. However, I did find the overall atmosphere to be lacking, and the grocery store aspect of the establishment felt a bit run down. On the plus side, I did appreciate the free underground parking for 90 minutes, though the process of installing the Indigo app and registering my vehicle was a bit cumbersome. Overall, I would recommend this establishment for those looking for a quick and affordable meal, but don't expect a five-star dining experience.

I have going to this store for the last 10 years. Best quality of food , fresh veggies and great prices. I am amazed how the staff are so professional and the same time friendly. I am normally not writing reviews because I have an infant : . This evening I made a mistake at the store with the baby. A nice kind store worker approached me and tried his best not to disturb me or make me embarrassed. Clearly it was my mistake, I feel so good at the same time so happy that I am choosing this store. Good food to take home. Warm or cold food. Prices are pretty decent. Get a lunch for less than 7$. Warm food about 8$, but you get a full meal. Thank you to all the hardworking staff.

Sure it’s in a great location but it’s always low on stock. Lots of half empty shelves especially in the pop and chip aisles. Also, how come restocking is happening during business hours? There’s little space in the frozen section as it is with so many boxes stuck in the middle. I’m having to get some of my products at Loblaws and Shoppers because they don’t have issues with restocking.

Relatively nice grocery store in the heart of downtown. Free underground parking for 90 minutes is available. However, you will need to install the Indigo app and register your vehicle to be eligible. Clean and organized grocery store with a lot of variety. Only flaw is that produce can be really overpriced and/or may be close to its expiration date. We purchased fresh garlic in a pack of 3 and a crate of mandarins, and both showed signs of expiration within a few days. We only noticed after we opened the items. Keep this in mind as you shop, as I did not expect this quality from here given their prices.

Do not recommend. I’m often charged full price on sales items at the self checkout stations. It’s happened at least 3 times now where I didn’t notice until later. With food prices already through the roof, it’s pretty shady.

The customer service here is not great. Some cashiers are polite and efficient. However, the daytime attendant at the self checkout is quite rude and unhelpful. I asked him to remove one item from my order. He hit a few keys on the screen and walked away without saying a single word. The item was not voided and before I could tell him, he rushed away to chat with his colleagues. I tried flagging him down two more times and he ignored meit wasn’t busy. He only attempted to fix the issue when his supervisor saw me waiting and asked if I needed help. This is not the first negative experience I have had with this attendant.

0 stars for customer service. One of their cleaning products was put away with the lid not properly sealed. When it got to my car, it leaked all over the seat. Customer service said nothing, tried to exchange the product. Told me it was not their problem, not their product. No compensation. Never coming back here.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. I have often had staff who are in the parking garage picking up trolleys, etc., who have helped me load my groceries into my car. I'm usually in the handicap spot. In the store, if I can't find something, someone always looks for it. The staff at the checkout always pack my bags. These are some of the reasons I shop there.

I have seen frozen food that has thawed then refrozen. everything gets distorted and then clumped into a single mass This is very dangerous. Just yesterday, March 03, 2023, I bought a whole chicken. The legs were tied together which is fine. AFTER I cooked it I noticed that what should have been a pure cotton twine, was in fact, for some bizarre reason, elastic cord. Cooked rubber is toxic and doesn't taste very good. Neither of these things are even close to best practices. Refreezing food can cause food poisoning.
