Fantastic beach, wasn't overly busy when we went. The beach is big enough that we were able to have our own space! Between the rocks and the razor clams I would recommend shoes. Once you get into the water it is beautiful soft sand. There are 3 different parking lots, the upper most has running water washrooms and a change room. The mid lot has out houses that double as change rooms and showers. The lower lot has his/hers out houses and signs warning of poison ivy, we were also warned by locals about ticks in the tall grass. Will go back at the next opportunity!
Beautiful beach. Well cared for by the staff. One of the most accessible beaches with a wooden boardwalk all the way from the parking lot and down onto the beach. Great for those that have physical limitations like we do. Washrooms clean. Very large beach with room for lots of people.
Beautiful beach! Water was cold but to be expected for August! Wonderful place to relax and hear waves crashing. Nice getaway from the city!! Will return to this place!
Beautiful beach! Sandy with lots of cool rocks. Lifeguards on duty for Most of the day Restrooms: Lots of clean toilets and change rooms. Picnic area: There are picnic tables near the water and an indoor one as well.
Nice beach. A fair amount of damage from the hurricane that needs fixing. Hopefully by 2023 it will be repaired. Restrooms: Closed and the smell of sewer was coming through the locked door
Love this beach!! Beautiful sand and water...water shoes are nice to have.Water fairly warm. Lots of sun until late.We stay past 8:30pm. Outhouse style facilities open always as well as full service washrooms until 5pm. Water station to wash up as well!
Beautiful Beach. I've gone twice in the shoulder season and have had various successes with washroom/shower facilities. In Early September the outhouse w/ sinks was open but the shower/flush toilets was not. In October, both were closed. If you continue driving to the furthest parking lot and where there is a neighbouring trail head you should find a single outhouse.
Always a good time at Melmerby aka The MERB. Beauty of a beach. Sometime there's even deer on it. Lots of tiny rocks and sea glass can usually be found too. There's jellyfish but they don't burn when they sting ...a lot of people don't react to them, but if they do, it's just an itch. It's that way all across NS though.
A little more touristy than a lot of the beaches we visited, but lovely, nevertheless. A nice mix of rocks and rose-coloured sand. The Atlantic was showing its power the day we visited and blew the cobwebs, the driving headache and the bad mood right out of my head. Magnificent.
Nice beach ..has lifeguard at main access..I prefer the farthest one when with kids...sand is nicer there and water is warmer..I do believe there is a riptide at main one too so not so great with kids
