Dr. Linda Xia is great. Knowledgeable, resourceful, supportive, accommodating. Front staff are also amazing, capable, quick and understanding. I never have to wait more than 10-15 mins to see the doc at my appointment time.
I have had only positive experiences with this clinic. I've never had to wait long. Always have been able to book an appt sooner than later. The front desk seems very effective and I have loved every doctor and nurse that's helped me. I'm really sorry to hear such negative reviews. I would most definitely recommend the 5th Ave clinic.
I called in the morning and got in for the afternoon. Only had to wait 15 mins or so! The doctor listened to my concerns and answered all my questions.
Made an appointment over the phone a week ago. Showed up on time in the morning. Apparently, my appointment has not been booked in the system. Obviously, it is a mistake from the agent who answered my call. I understand people make mistakes. What I was expecting was his acknowledgement and attempt to reconcile the situation. All he said was, “can’t remember. I can get you in this afternoon though.” Very not professional, and I switched the clinic. Don’t get me wrong, my doctor was awesome. But what is the point if I can’t see my doctor.
It took Medical Express 3 weeks and over 10 hours of my own time to provide me with my own medical records and send them to my doctor. This probably would have not gotten done without me getting involved to help them at every step of the way. Because I am flying out of province soon time was up. I had to print the request form and bring it into them in person. Once I had given them this it took 2 hours for them to fax it to my doctor. Imagine if I was elderly and did not have the time, energy or technical ability to do the staffs job for them. The administrators and office should be ashamed of their negligence in providing such basic service. I am currently filing a complaint with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta so hopefully this does not happen to anyone else in the future. Also - incredibly rude to me throughout the whole process of not doing their job and giving me alternative options only when I decided to come in when I was out of time and had no other choice. Maybe this would all be OK if the Dr.Das provided me with good care - however he did not. He hardly pays attention and focuses only on writing prescriptions and getting you out the door rather than actually listening to your needs. This office is a scam - This province needs to start doing their own healthcare and stop providing our taxpayer dollars to these private criminals. Thankfully I will never need to deal with Medical Express ever again. Also take note how few reviews that positive reviewers have completed - suspect.
Diana and Diona working at reception are just the worst people you can deal with. They would make mistakes and lose you records and instead of apologizing they would keep robotically telling you to rebook your appointment and come in again. Why would someone have to waste their time again for an error on your side? Aren’t you there to help and do your job? The doctors at the clinic are great but honestly why even have receptionists who are useless at helping your patients? That’s only an unnecessary cost for your business. Your reception ruins the whole practice based on all the reviews posted here.
The reception staff at this clinic are the rudest most unhelpful, uncaring staff I have had the misfortune of dealing with . They could not careless as a medical practitioner their lack of professionalism is heart breaking and a disgrace to the medical profession. That said the doctors and the adjoining Pharmacy are great.
THE RUDEST and most incompetent front desk staff! They left my prenatal test results which I paid $500 for sitting on a fax machine for two days and kept telling me they hadn’t been received yet. Dynacare told me they had been provided so I called back and the women gave me attitude. I asked one of them to tell the doctor who had previously said she would call me asap and she said “we’ll see” she did not do it. I had to call back to ask the male staff member to do it, but they still refused to give me my test results until the next week. I ultimately got them from a walk in clinic, which provided them immediately. This is a constant theme. It’s like they are trying to make things more difficult and frustrating for patients. They do not listen and when you ask questions they have robotic response that don’t make any sense. Dr. Subedi is ok but she doesn’t seem to know much about pregnancy. She told me a genetic test is not available in Alberta it is, didn’t tell me about a much cheaper test than the one she did tell me about I could have saved $400, didn’t tell me to stop a retinol prescription which can cause serious birth defects luckily I knew this and had stopped on my own before pregnancy, and didn’t provide any information at all. The only thing she told me was to limit my coffee but even then she got the milligram limit wrong and had to google it when I corrected her. She only works two days a week so its difficult to see her when you want to. Refused to call me with my prenatal results even though she said she would. It would have taken 30 seconds. Their office says you don’t have a choice for referral to OB or maternity clinic which you do and make you make an in-person appt if you want a referral. Just an overall bad experience.
Receptionists are extremely rude. Don’t follow up like they say they do. Don’t re book when they’ve made a mistake and treat patients very rude. Dr. Kelly Ma should care more about their practice and not hire randoms off the street who don’t understand how to treat patient's. You are in the business of helping people, so help people. You can blame your receptionists for making your entire practice look terrible.
Out of the province, out of meds, and need to get my heart prescription renewed so I can get my pharmacy in Calgary to send me the meds. or do the prescription online. Kind of important to keep my heart ticking. Of course they have all my records, but they say "no phone consultations", and "the doctors are very firm on this" So now I have to go to a doctor outside of the province, but have no access to my records so no proper medical review can take place before re-subscribing. Cannot stop taking the medication or my heart goes into arrhythmia. So I have to go to a walk in clinic and convince them to give me a subscription without medical review of at least my records. Nice work, this is totally unacceptable and appears to me to be a self serving point of view, but make up your own mind. Certainly does not protect my health nor consider patient realities or convenience.
