Dr Armstrong was my OB for my second pregnancy, I had not used her for my first pregnancy, she was a referral from my family doctor. She had a great bedside manor, she knew how nervous I was and she calmed me down everytime. I had high blood pressure around 37 weeks and she really took care of me until the end and I ended up getting induced at 39 weeks. She was very professional, I highly recommend her. The nurses were really friendly to my 5 year old daughter as well. Great atmosphere at this office. Thank you Dr Armstrong for everything best of luck to you and the office.
have been coming to this doctors office my entire life but am finding it next to impossible to get ahold of anyone over the phone whether it’s because their hours are short or they’re on lunch and haven’t turned their phones back on. always having to take time off work if i want to be seen in person because they’re only open until 4pm and don’t open until 9am. it’s extremely difficult to continue to want to come to this doctors office when i can’t even get ahold of an actual person to speak to. I work 45 minutes away and live even further and didn’t want to have to find a new doctors office but thinking it’s about time i do so.
We as a family have been going to Medical Associates for the last 35 plus year. Our family Dr., Dr. Merilee Brown, has been there for us and always gone the extra mile to figure out what may be the issue! She is tenacious and never gives up!!! Easy to speak with and very open to any ideas that we offer. Excellent bedside manner.
this 5 star rating is specifically for Dr. Rebecca Wray, the best family doctor i’ve ever had! she’s the sweetest, kindest person who always brings a positive attitude. she’s always a great listener and made me look forward to our appointments. i also loved seeing Louise, the nurse! she was also such a sweetheart.
I have been coming to the Port Perry Medical Centre for 30 years. My doctor is Dr Steven Russell and he is amazing. Over the years he has always been kind and caring and always made me feel very comfortable. I’ve always been able to book appointments pre COVID and now with all the different guidelines because of COVID the staff has been amazing. It’s so nice feeling safe especially nowadays. All the wonderful people at the medical center from the doctors and receptionists and the pharmacy crew it’s comforting to know they are there to help.
I've been seeing Dr. Brown for years now, and I love how professional this office is and how easily I can make an appointment, be seen and clear up any issues I have. Occasionally the phone lines can be difficult, particularly because they're not answered 100% of the time, but having dealt with Oshawa clinics all my life, Port Perry is a breath of fresh air.
Great staff aside from the nurse who does the check ins. Tried to turn me away for shortness of breath when the symptom was over 3 weeks old. I was there by doctors orders for an ECG and bloodwork, after turning me away originally she proceeded to cough against her plexiglass with no mask, and when called out for this by me and another patient, she snapped saying "This is not new or worsening" much like my shortness of breath. Once she was told by her manager I was allowed in she continued to argue with me and told me "You won't come in here if I decide you're too disrespectful." No clue who made her the queen of Canadian healthcare, but she shouldn't be the face of your clinic.
The best experience you can have. The urgent care clinic is open until 8pm on Wednesday nights. I was running in the door at 8pm and they waited for me. I had called and they waited. The cleaning lady heard me ask the receptionist if the pharmacy would be open still when we were done so I could start some medicine that night because I had been sick for 4 days and it was painful. The receptionist said it would be closed unfortunately. While I was in with the doctor the cleaning lady went and told the pharmacist my situation and the pharmacist told her to let the clinic know she would wait for me so I could get my prescription filled. Not only did she wait but she spent the time with me to explain everything and was very genuine and kind. Thank you to all the staff that was so accommodating and kind. They all went over and above!!!
My family Dr is in this building and it is the most useless place to try and get help through. I have been calling daily for weeks now, different times of day, and every time I call either lines are so busy and my call gets dropped, or their office is closed entirely at 11am on a Thursday. Its pathetic. Dont waste your time trying to get a doctor here.
I have been a resident of Port Perry for over 30 years and have been dealing with the medical clinic since before my move to Port Perry. Over the years I have had some very pleasant and helpful experiences with the staff and doctors at the clinic. However over the past few years I found the clinic to be generally unhelpful and the hours of operation for some doctors are very hard to work with especially if you work full time like I do. The staff on the front desks are becoming increasingly unhelpful and unwilling to listen. Its almost like a recording "go to the hospital or walkin clinic". Why are the doctors even there if all the staff can do is suggest to go elsewhere. My husband has been suffering for the past few months as the result of a fall. the hospital took x rays and said "nothing broken so we cant do anything, just takes time". My husband went in to see the doctor today and was told no way to get into his doctor today, booked solid and there is no one else able to see him. ":WHAT??? of all the doctors in the clinic, no one else can help?? He was told "well you should have made an appointment", or go to the walkin clinic. The sound like you are stupid and never thought to do that!!! How can you get an appointment when your doctor is away!! Don't get me wrong, I respect doctors and what they can do and yes I am angry because now his condition is affecting our whole family not just him. We are not after instant solutions or drugs, we just want someone to do something to help like listen, be available and don't make people feel like dirt.
