Had an amazing experience at MEC Vancouver, especially thanks to Johnny from the shoes department. From the moment we started talking, he asked all the right questions—what the shoes were for, the type of hikes we usually do, our experience level, the terrains and weather we’d be facing. It felt like he really wanted to understand our needs instead of just selling us something.nnJohnny was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, walking us through different options and explaining why certain features would work better for us. He even encouraged us to try the shoes on their in-store “fake rock” demo area, so we could feel what it’s like to hike on uneven terrain before making a decision. That extra step really helped us choose the perfect pair with confidence.nnThanks to Johnny, we left feeling happy with our purchase and excited for our next hike. MEC, you’ve got a gem of an employee!
I recently visited this store and was assisted by Manpreet, who provided outstanding customer service. She was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable about the products. She took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I found exactly what I needed.nIt’s rare to find staff who truly care about creating a positive experience, and Manpreet definitely went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this store for anyone looking for great service!
Had to make a price adjustment in store today which was a little complicated. The sales associate I spoke with was polite but was unfortunately unable to see things from my perspective. However, Adam, the manager was extremely professional and understanding about my situation and clearly understood the big picture of customer relations. Well done Adam - it's very clear why the company trusts you in such an important role. Keep up the good work. I have been a loyal customer since 2004 and will continue to be so when treated as a valued patron.
Visited MEC today to pick up a pair of hiking boots that were on sale. The store was quite busy, so I didn’t expect much assistance . The boots were just sitting on a table on the first floor, so I grabbed my size and headed to the cashier.nnWhen I asked if I could get a bag or box to carry them since I had a 30-minute walk home, I was told “no” without any other option offered. It felt a bit ridiculous that nothing , not even a reusable shopping bag was available to help customers carry their purchase, especially for something bulky like boots. I couldn’t help but feel like I was being treated differently because it was a sale item.nnThen I walked over to another counter, and a kind staff member found a plastic bag from the trash to help me out. I really appreciated his effort, but overall the experience was disappointing. I get it the store is clean and offers a wide range of products. But honestly, train your staff better. A little empathy and problem solving would go a long way lmao
I recently visited the MEC store in Vancouver’s Olympic Village and had an amazing experience . I went in to purchase some ski gear and left with everything I needed and more . The store has an incredible selection of products . I specifically bought new ski poles, a helmet, and goggles, and I was blown away by the variety of options available for each item. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a kid in a candy store for outdoor enthusiasts .nnThe staff at this MEC are fantastic . Everyone I spoke with was super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to help . One staff member helped me find the right length for my ski poles and made sure I got a helmet that fits perfectly with my goggles . They took the time to answer all my questions about different products without any pressure, which made the shopping process really enjoyable. It’s clear that the team here is passionate about what they do, and it made my experience even better .nnOverall, my shopping experience at this MEC was fantastic and one of the best I’ve had in a long time . The Olympic Village location is spacious, bright, and well-organized, which made it easy to find what I needed without any hassle . Even though the store was busy, checkout was quick and efficient. I left the store feeling super happy with my purchases and ready for my ski trip . I’ll definitely be coming back here for any future gear needs, and I highly recommend it to anyone in Vancouver looking for quality outdoor gear . Truly a 5-star experience all around!
