Came in for the first time yesterday, and I ordered the large Fried Chicken Poutine. It was amazing, the fries were really crispy and flavourful, the chicken bits were nicely seasoned and crispy as well. Their gravy is absolutely delicious it pieces the poutine together very well, the two ladies working were very nice, and I waited no more than 5 minutes to recieve a piping hot, fresh and delicious poutine. Definitely coming here again.
My daughter and I went out for a late night dinner with a friend at Mean Poutine in New Westminster. We all decided to go with the Classic Poutine. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I think this was a mistake on my part. I forgot that the gravy for Classic Poutine was probably not Vegetarian. I should have actually ordered the Mean and Green Poutine. Ooops. Will try to remember that for next time. The fries were hot and crispy; the cheese curds were squeaky just as they are supposed to be. I think this was a more authentic version of Poutine than what we've had previously at Fritz's European Fry House in Vancouver. The cheese curds there were not squeaky; rather, they were melted and had a very ooey, gooey, stretchy texture to them. Personally, I think I prefer the poutine at Fritz's European Fry House even though it may not be as authentic as the one at Mean Poutine . I wouldn't say though that it's better. Both places serve very good poutine. Just a matter of personal preference! Service: Good Parking: Paid parking on the street Location: Uptown New Westminster
Large Classic Poutine was very good, though there was room in the box for a little bit more. There was plenty of cheese and the fries still crispy and hot. The restaurant itself was quite cold, thus the 4/5 for atmosphere. Overall quite pleased, and would recommend if you want a quick lunch.
The best Poutine I've ever eaten . 1. Good portion 2. Best flavor 3. Great customer service 4. Reasonable price I would highly recommend this place to whoever lives in New Westminster . We had: chilli Poutine, southern BBQ, fried chicken and last but not least classic Poutine... all were so tasty.
Ordered a large poutine fried chicken and I was pretty happy about the quality of the fries, cheese, and gravy. The order came up really fast as well. Was expecting the fried chicken to be a bit crispy though so I'm guessing the chicken was already pre-cooked and they just put it on top. The portion is actually big and I had trouble finishing it by myself so ended up sharing it with my kids. Looking forward to trying the other flavors!
I adore the design of this location, location is amazing! The staff are always friendly and the service is speedy quick! Mean poutine has a wide variety on their menu, poutine and hot dogs, and is even vegetarian friendly! The vegetarian gravy tastes amazing!! The cheese curds are always fresh, and the toppings are sautéed in butter! YUM!!! My go to spot for poutine
Ordered hotdogs and poutine. The hotdogs were probably the highlight of the meal, they were good! However I can’t say the same for the poutine. My husband and I were a little disappointed. The fries and fried chicken were frozen. The gravy tasted prepackaged but I don’t know for sure. I wondered if they made anything in house since nothing tasted like it was. I was expecting a legitimate poutinerie considering it’s just fries, gravy and a few cheese curds, I really wanted those items to be of higher quality. It tasted like there was no effort being put into the product.
we ordered the mean supreme, southern bbq and fried chicken poutines. all 3 were generous with the toppings. all the fried stuff was crispy and delicious. the southern bbq was amazing: the ratio of all the toppings and sauces was perfect. the fried chicken was generous and like i said, crispy. they seemed to have seasoned it with powder rather than sauce which was nice. the mean supreme had good beef and the toppings were flavorful. the service was extremely fast; i was very surprised. would definitely go again and 100% recommend
Went here earlier tonight. Service was good, lady that took my order was friendly and courteous. Purchased two veggie dogs, one classic dog, and one classic large poutine with vegatarian gravy. The veggie dog was really tasty with all the toppings. As for the poutine........not so much. Their poutine is very salty, tastes like it is just coating all the fries and in the gravy not enough gravy on fries, sorta dry. For $8.00 a poutine, I expected a delicous poutine. I think I'll stick with Wendy's or Annie's just down on 6th street. Real French Canadian poutine there. Would not return.
Although I always get my orders delivered, the food is always great. I am from Montreal so I know what a great poutine taste like and Mean Poutine has a great variety and the right cheese cheese curd not mozzarella...
